Let's talk embellishment clusters. Do you use them when you scrap?
I love a good embellishment cluster. My favorite lately has been using a couple of tags (with twine) as the base. I then pop up an icon or two on top of the tags, and then add acrylic pieces, wood, enamel dots, sequins, etc. around that. It is really nice that so many lines lately have been coming with a cut apart tag sheet of paper. It makes it really easy to layer.
I also really like 49 & Market embellishments- huge packs of layering pieces.
I agree with craftymom101 about the Echo Park embellishments- their embellishments all have words on them so it makes it hard to layer.
Do you do embellishment clusters? I know some of the people on here are very streamlined scrappers and some of us like to pile it on.

I love embellishment clusters! Recently I was looking at an older page of mine with a pretty cluster at the top of the page in the corner. I was struck by how much I liked it. 😂 I think I probably will try to do something like it on another page.

I love embellishment clusters, but I'm not very good at doing them myself. I wanted to add one to a layout the other day, so I searched through my Layer Works templates by Katie Pertiet and found something to use.
I have also saved lots of examples of clusters, so I can try to make some myself.

I love them but I am not very good at making them.
I even try to copy what others have done and mine just don't work as well.

I love the way embellishment clusters look on pages, but I’m new to doing them. I usually need a guide of some sort.

I love them! Sometimes mine are quite small and might only have two or three pieces in them, and sometimes I'll pile on all the pieces. I love the amount of detail a cluster can bring to a page.

Love them! I especially like to use Maggie Holmes supplies for clusters. They turn out so pretty.
I agree that EP embellishments are hard to cluster. I usually have to die cut something with my silhouette or bring something in that's not part of the EP collection to make it work.

I love embellishment clusters. I think my pages look better if I have small groupings of embellishments, rather than a lone item.
I often start with a tag or label.

I had a hard time figuring out what to use for a foundation for the cluster... and then sorta ala Nicole Jones 911.. I use either a big circle, hexagon or scalloped circle punched out of a contrasting color of the last mat I use for my photos... Im a multi matter... only 2/3... so I will either use the 1st mat paper that I trimmed off or a different but same sorta color scrap...
once i have those in place then it is easier for me to envision building up... ill add bigger pieces of ephemera.. sticker or die cuts.. add a wood piece or acrylic for each cluster.. finish with some sorta dot/bling/brad... in each cluster i will usually put a word/sentiment...

It's not something that comes naturally to me. Normally, I think I need green here, yellow here, or that white space seems weird. I fill it with one thing and call it good.

I like clusters with minimal amount of items, Scrapbook Quebec has some good examples.

I LOVE embellishment clusters, and use them on every LO, but I don’t always do the “eye pleasing” 3 clusters. I do a lot of 2, and sometimes a very small 4th one on the outer edge.
Mine usually have at least 3 flowers/greenery, enamel dots, maybe a label, heart, phrase stick…

I don't like following the "rules." I go by what looks good to me. My embellishment clusters are usually pretty simplistic. Often I think, "I should be adding more." Then I realize that a lot of the layouts I see are made by scrappers on design teams who need to used as much product as possible.

I LOOOOVE embellishment clusters! I use them on almost every single layout. fuji I completely understand where your comment about DT members comes from, but as a current and former DT member for a bunch of different companies, I have never been pressured to add more product to my layouts. Occasionally we will have a challenge to help inspire people who are purchasing kits, but I've never been told I have to use more product. I prefer busy, fuller layouts but not everyone on the DT does!

Pile. It . On. I love a good embellishment cluster. For bases I like a tag/circle combo, but sometimes will go with just one or the other. I have a hard time resisting 49 & Market embellishments, even if I don't buy the papers...they have some amazing elements for clusters. I also love to include phrase stickers in mine. I much prefer the smaller phrase stickers to larger elements with text on them.

i struggle. i have lots of bases and extra to add on — i love the “stuff”. however, when I begin to work on my projects, I become a minimalist. I’m trying to push through and use more of my pretty things. It’s not a matter of saving or hoarding; it’s just the longing for clean pages.

Yes! I love using clusters and also have been starting a lot with a tag or two tucked in, then maybe a label peeking out, then various options of stickers/puffies/wood veener/word strips and top it off with enamel dots/nuvo.

Embellishment clusters are my favorite part of creating a layout. I like the dimension created when layering all of my goodies on top of each other. And I like that embellishment clusters are ways to easily hide random icons that may just sit around in my stash otherwise. Sometimes I need a roller skate sticker for the pop of color, not the actual icon itself.
