I noticed several people mentioning 49 & Market in the Collection thread. I have become a huge fan, but my style is really different than what 49& Market puts out on Social Media which is very elaborate. I would love to see how others are using these collections and anyone you follow or your insta account to get some inspiration. I have recently bought the Everywhere travel collection, the new Christmas collection and I would love love to see how people are using these and really any of their collections.
TIA

I just did this one the other day using the Gardenia collection. I love their products also, but don't use them like some of their designers do.

Great post! I have bought both the Spectrum Sherbet and the Spectrum Gardenia collections (digital version). I absolutely love them, but haven't used them much. I went onto the site on the weekend to get some ideas, and thought the same as you - a lot of the layouts were very...... elaborate, and not really my style.

I have done a couple of the "traditional" 49 & Market layouts that are very detailed, but I really like to break up their collections. I find that the more basic papers make excellent backgrounds, and I like their embellishments mixed in with other designers. I don't have a photo of the layout, but I did one using this paper: www.49andmarket.com/product/vintage-artistry-serenity-brief-glimpse/The paper definitely did all the heavy lifting. All I really did was adhere the photo down, add a couple of rub ons, and added some of their acetate leaves behind the photo. I tried to add some extra embellishments because it felt like the layout was just too quick, but nothing really "added" to it.

I purchased a bit of the Vintage Artistry Everywhere collection because of this layout by Scrapbooking Quebec. (Link is to a process video). I’ve always thought the products were gorgeous, but felt the same as you. I like her style, and I think the reason it works for me is because she doesn’t use a lot of the embellishments from the line, just rub ons if I recall correctly. It has also greatly impacted what I’m planning to purchase from the Vintage Artistry Sunburst and Spectrum Gardenia collections. eta: Here is a video showing several layouts using the Spectrum Sherbet collection. Some have too many embellishments for my preference, but I think the design would look just as good by removing a bit from the clusters.

I bought some of those, too, but I haven't started using them. My style is fairly simple, never fussy. I love 49 & Market because the background papers are so easy to use. I admire the more artistic layouts, but they're just not me.

I, too, love 49 & Market but just don't relate to the layouts they use to promote their lines. I'm more of a clean lines kind of scrapper. I would love to see more examples using the "B side" of the the papers because those are what I use in my work.

The background is an a-side, the mat is a b-side. I added the doily. The leaves and butterflies are laser cuts (I love their laser cuts- no white margins). “Play” is from the chipboard pack. Letter stickers are Doodlebug. The only reason this works, I think, is that the photo is black & white. It would be way too busy for me if the photo was in color. I don’t like their Instagram examples. There is way too much product. The photos get lost and the busyness makes me uncomfortable. I do love 49 & Market but I mix their stuff up with other brands. This is a rare layout where I stuck (mostly) with their products.

Here’s a couple recent ones I’ve made! I definitely make mine a bit less elaborate than the ones mentioned. I usually mix 49&Market with less busy patterns to tone it down a bit. Click to enlarge

Thanks for sharing this video dewryce , I love all of those layouts! I really like her style and her video style, the explanations of why she does what she does. Some of her clusters are too full for me, but I still like learning how/where/why she builds them. Wish I could think of the pea who originally introduced her to me as SQ has been such an inspiration and motivator.

I find her style is less about selling product and embellishments and more about the memories and simpler style. I also like that she does two pages a lot, or complimentary pages which I also do a lot.

Then thank you @mandolynn9909, she has helped me so much! Also, if someone with a Texas area code calls, don’t answer. Her motivation has put me in a bit of a spending mode (though you’re right, it doesn’t feel like that’s the goal) and DH will be looking for someone to blame I’m also a 2 page layout gal and I really like the way she does hers. And can’t wait to use it to expand some of those 1-page layouts I made in a class. I also like that she makes a lot of her own embellishments, it’s made me think of dies (or cut files) I can get that I would use in multiple types of layouts.
