I have so many scrapbook embellishments and I find that I forget what I have. So I'm making a layout and I want to embellish it but I only use a limited number of things.
I'm going to make a list of embellishments to keep on my desk so that I remember to go through my stash and use up some of the old things.
What I think I'm going to put on my list:
Stickers and die cuts. (I always remember to use those) Enamel dots Pearls and gems Sequins Puffy stickers Wood pieces Acrylic pieces Film strips Frames Doilies Tags Specialty paper (vellum, metallic, etc.) Burlap and canvas Flowers and leaves Brads Ribbon Twine Metal (old Making Memories, charms, paper clips, etc.) Washi tape Buttons Bows
I'm trying to think of what else I have in my stash that I can get out and embellish with. I want to use the really old stuff as much as the new stuff.
Can anyone think of something I'm forgetting?

Tickets Acetate pieces PL/Journaling Cards Punches
I cut elements out of my PL cards or use my punches on them to make elements for my embellishment clusters.

This is a great idea! The “cardboard” shapes and letters. What are those things called? I can’t remember for the life of me! Sorry, having a fibro flare. Words bad. . (eta: chipboard!) Do you have digital supplies? Memorabilia Do you remember to get photos (and memories) from all sources like digital, family & friends, online? Rub-ons Printed quotes Stencils Glitter/Embossing Alphas & Monograms Ephemera. I know a lot of it is listed individually here, but depending on how you store it that might not capture it all. I’m thinking items like birds, cameras, hearts, animals, etc. Various coloring mediums (colored pencils, markers, alcohol inks, sprays, inks, gelatos, daubers) Do you have all of your tools stored together and remember to use them? Don’t forget items like perfect layers, Kiwi Lane rulers, deckle ruler, crimper, decorative scissors, Thickers ruler, corner rounder, etc. Something I’m adding to my list is techniques I don’t use often and would like to learn/perfect. Do you have collections of layouts you want to use? A title or embellishment you like and wanted to scraplift? Title or page treatments? What about your papers? Depending on how you store them, besides the specialty papers that you already mentioned, do you check all of your sources? Thinking about it now, I realize the first thing I do after checking to see if I have any supplies set aside for that specific layout*** or theme I automatically check the collections to find paper that matches the color scheme I’m going for. But I also have loose papers stored by predominant color and color scheme, and they’re often my older papers. If I find a collection I like I won’t check further and I think I should reverse the order I do that. This topic is really making me think! *** If I have paper and/or embellishment for a specific person/photo/layout I put it in a thin plastic 12 x 12 bag (like they often use for classes) and label it, storing by date (or person if it’s generic and not for a specific time/event). My labels are made from light washi tape I’m not in love with and I write in sharpie.

Great idea. I go through all my embellishments ,stamps, dies and papers a couple of times a year but a list would make it easier to remember. Lists would help prevent the “I could have used that” exclamation. And let’s not forget the buying duplicate items issue when I forgot I already had that stamp, stencil, etc.

That's a really good idea. I keep forgetting about new things that I have bought, unless it's a whole kit. I was adding a customised view to a heap of folders on my MacBook on the weekend, and I kept finding things that I had bought in the last 6-12 months..... "Oh wow, what a cute stamp, I forgot I had that!" or "Ooooh, I love this gesso style, I could have used that on my last layout!" I always just go straight to my full kits, and forget about everything else. I need to make a list of the new stuff I have bought.

Great idea artbabe and everyone. I'll be copying your lists and adding border punches.

This is a great idea. I don't think to use my stamps enough.
