What is your experience with photopolymer stamps from different companies? I have some that are great and others that I can’t get a good image with especially with embossing ink. All reliable companies and supposedly quality stamps. I don’t find I have an issue with red rubber/cling stamps. Any thoughts or ideas? Or are some stamps more equal than others?!

For heat embossing with embossing powder, rubber stamps are definitely better. However, the clear stamps are a lot more affordable, and I rarely heat emboss these days, so if I like the stamps, I buy them and am not concerned whether they are rubber or photopolymer.
And yes, it is also true that some photopolymer stamps are better than others. For example, the cheap dollar stamps are not as good a quality as those sold by a reputable company. I tend to stamp on plain, white card stock, and use it on a card, but when I use stamping on a layout, I make sure ahead of time that it’s a stamp that will give me a decent image. (Sometimes I use stamps to create my own background paper.)

I can't remember the last time I had an issue with a photopolymer stamp that did not have a visible defect in it. With a stamping tool, I can get pretty much a good crisp image. Honestly, I'd have to know the name of the company before I could say their stamps are poor quality.
I think some people confuse photopolymer and acrylic clear stamps. Photopolymer stamps are a superior quality over acrylic. Since both are clear, sometimes acrylic are mistaken for photopolymer. Photopolymer stamps are typically sold by the big wigs (Hero Arts, Concord & 9th, SSS, etc.) where acrylic stamps are sold by some off brand companies, AliExpress, Dollar Tree and in Michaels dollar spot.
In my opinion, red rubber stamps can vary in quality as well.

I haven't had a bad experience with photopolymer stamps in years - with the exception of one stamp that clearly had a defect.
