Good morning. Today we start our week by wishing the Happiest of Birthdays to our lovely bklyngal62. May your year be filled w/wonderful moments and great joy as you start your new life in Texas. Happy Birthday!
lucyg, I hope that you're still celebrating your birthday, as well.
So, I'm going to start today by calling my doc's office asap in order to find out if I need to do another PCR test. DH is feeling better, but I suspect he'll be down for the count for another few days. This really spoiled his sabbatical. I have a very important appt tmw and just hope that I can still go or at least have it transferred to a video visit.
Dinner is rechauffe pizza for dh who can't taste anything anyway.
What's on your menu?
What is everyone up this week? I think my week was pre-planned.
Wishing my wonderful tribe a happy, easy, calm week ahead!

Happy happy birthday bklyngal62 and lucyg! I hope both you and Mr. scrapmaven feel better soon, scrapmaven! I need to set up a couple of appointments today ... hoping to see the dentist and speak to the doctor on the phone ... nothing like leaving stuff to the last minute but I am The Queen of Procrastination! I'm hoping to hear from the dealership today to set up an appointment to have my running boards installed ... I let my "friend" drive my Jeep last night ... he liked it but he prefers cars that ride low ... weirdo. One of the reasons I love the Jeep is the fact that it is high off the ground ... it will be awesome when the snow accumulates! They don't shovel the parking lot at my school so my parking spot gets knarley ... the BMW often had trouble getting in and out ... I will be golden with this vehicle because it is high up and 4WD. I'm not sure what dinner will be tonight ... maybe a shrimp recipe from Hello Fresh

Happy Birthday bklyngal62 ! scrapmaven , I hope you are both feeling better soon and that you can keep your appointment tomorrow. We actually got some rain overnight and it's supposed to rain some more today. Welcome relief! Dinner will be AF Chicken Thighs. I'm definitely guilty of keeping stuff *just in case*.

Thank you cadoodlebug and leannec. leannec, I like my mini van was higher up when I had to drive one. As a short person it's nice to be able really see what's going on around us. My SUV is a bit higher than a regular car and I like that.

bklyngal62 - happy birthday Another hot day here today and it is going to continue that way all week. I am already looking forward to Friday afternoon’s storm and the cool change that will follow it. DH came home from work at about 3pm today, as he wasn’t feeling well. I think it’s a combination of heat and not sleeping well - he’s been up ridiculously early the past few days. Not sure what dinner will be. DH said he probably won’t want to eat and I am not feeling really hungry right now, and it is past 5pm. Maybe I’ll just go with some of the leftovers in the fridge rather than make anything new.

Hi, all. Get better soon scrapmaven. I'm pleased to report whatever was plaguing me yesterday and Saturday doesn't seem to be bothering me today. I went to bed early, slept well, woke up early this morning, drank coffee for an hour and then figured the best way to ensure my mind was going to function optimally today was to exercise. So I went on a nice walk. It's now noon and I feel pretty good. Maybe my body just needed to rest this weekend. Happy birthday bklyngal62 I hope you have a good day today. I'm working in my office today. It is like 10000 degrees in here. I am going to run over to the library here in a minute. We will have pork chops with acorn squash and potatoes for dinner.

Good morning! I went to a baby shower on Saturday that was scheduled for Sunday. I went back on Sunday...I have decided that this will be the last one I attend. I am over the whole shower thing. I would rather just leave a gift and go. I think I am getting old and crabby! My dh was out of town working all weekend, so I got a lot of time to work on my quilt top. Dinner tonight is going to be those King Hawaiian roll ham and cheese sandwiches. scrapmaven..I didn't feel slighted! It would have been cool to meet you!! I don't live anywhere near where you were. I hope you guys had a great time (minus the sick part!)

I'm grilling honey garlic chicken thighs, with rice and sweet potato fries for dinner tonight.
My SO is working a 72-hour shift Wednesday morning - Saturday morning, so my house will be quiet! I have three of the kids Wednesday, one Thursday, and two Friday.

Brats or hotdogs for dinner I think. We are also going to be in the heat advisory this week. Yesterday was horrible outside, I stayed in almost all day.

I can't remember the last shower I was at but I know that the games were always the worst part. The whole thing sucked. It started at 1 and the hostess wasn't ready. She was having her guests put up the decorations. She was just starting to make the food. I stayed for 1.5 hours and had enough and told them that I had to go. It probably went on until 5 o'clock and I just wasn't about that.

DS and I took our chances on the chile verde for lunch (over steamed rice) and it was wonderful as usual. If I never show my face again, you’ll know my brother left the carton in the back of his car in the heat for three days. (We’re pretty hardy and it smelled/tasted fine. Just, you never know with my brother.) Tonight, I don’t know. I think we’re out of rechauffe (praise the lord). My neighbor is roasting a turkey and will bring me some, but I’m not sure when that will be ready. Maybe I’ll steam the artichokes that are getting old in my fridge. Happy birthday, bklyngal62! I always forget your birthday comes right after mine. That’s because I’m OLD.

I stayed for 1.5 hours and had enough and told them that I had to go. It probably went on until 5 o'clock and I just wasn't about that. This is so rude! I would have left too. Worked in my garden then went to a Walmart across town to for a pick up because they were the only one that had wipes for Luke right now. Don’t you know the guy left his hand held device on top of my car. I drove all over with it til a guy at a red light got out and gave it to me. I tried calling them because I’m not sure when I’ll go over that way again. Then I had jewelry. I worked really hard on the cover of dd’s mini flower press. Made my own branches to decorate the top with. Added flowers and leaves , soldered it and it didn’t melt. Then I was out of time 🤦♀️ We weren’t hungry for dinner so dh had Mac & cheese from a box and I had topo Chico water. leannec I saw a really pretty magenta wrangler today right next to a black one. All of a sudden they’re everywhere. My nephew has a red one. He said jeep owners give each other little rubber duckies. Feel better scrapmaven

There are quite a few Jeeps here too ... but we are still TRUCK country! . (Alberta) I've heard of the duck thing but I don't think it has made it's way to Calgary.

Today was the day from Hell. Worse than Hell.
First - I was supposed to work today. Mondays are our busiest day of the week & only 2 of us were scheduled to work on cash. And one of us (not me!) called in "sick" today. I put it in quotes because I was warned by someone else on Friday that this woman would most likely not be there. And they were right. Such a bitch move. Thankfully the manager was able to pull a guy from another branch to come help, and he was awesome. But it was insanely busy, lined up to the door, most of the afternoon.
Then I got the message from BIL on my lunch that my SIL is definitely in liver failure and is nearing the end. We went to the hospital for a couple hours after work to visit. She's barely conscious and very incoherent. It was heartbreaking
And then, my dh has been not been feeling well and definitely not himself since our trip in May. I have bugged and bugged and bugged for him to get it checked out. He got sent to the hospital in June for tests and they couldn't find anything. And then our family dr never followed up with him. I did find out today that dh was supposed to be following up with her if he still was not well, but clearly that got lost in a miscommunication. So today he went to a different hospital for tests. And got the results. And they aren't good. I'm not ready to say more until we know more. But I'm kinda freaking out. And now I have a major headache from bawling my face off. And at the hospital I - of course! - had to pretend that nothing was wrong with us to focus on SIL.
And now I'm drinking wine and watching the Bachelorette finale. And forcing myself not to google

teddyw, thank you. tanya2, we support eachother and we're friends here in the tribe. So, if you need to talk or get something off of your shoulders then we're here w/you. You have way too much on your plate and I'm sorry that you have potentially scary news about your husband. Do not google. Just focus on Charity and her choice. Google will scare the daylights out of you and it'll likely be wrong, anyway. You two will face whatever you need to handle together and as a team you will be able to get through this together. Meanwhile, this is a good play to "say it here" and we'll listen and offer you support and ((((HUGS))). BTW-I will watch the Bachelor now that it's going to be over. I save 'em up and binge watch at the end. Reality Steve always spoils it for me, but I avoided him this time.

tanya2.. I'm sorry this all slammed you.. it would be too much for anyone. sufficient unto the day is the evil within.. ie.. one day at a time, don't anticipate the worst. one foot in front, 1 minute at a time.
easy to say, hard to do. I send hugs and prayers and whatever will help.. good thoughts..
we are here to listen. always.

bklyngal62 Happy birthday!!! tanya2 I am so sorry. Both by themselves are difficult. We are glad to be here for you. I hope things with your DH will not be so daunting as you fear. Hugs to you. My little furball kept us up until 2:30 and then up at 5 am. I felt like a walking zombie. Tonight we are using a different cone and setup for bed. Today was rechauffe pork teriyaki stir fry.
