Classes? Instagram? Youtube? Design teams? Sketches?
If it's classes is it the instructors style, page design, techniques, or specific instructions like Allison Davis sketches with exact measurements? Do you prefer pictures on Pinterest and IG or videos on YouTube? Do you follow design teams to find inspiration for specific collections and supplies? Do you need a jump start from a sketch?
Just wondering what gets you started on a layout.
Edited to add challenges.
Also if you’d like to link us to a class, video, ig, challenge or whatever please feel free.

Classes & Youtube process videos.
I HATE INSTAGRAM REELS. you can’t pause them, or go back a frame to take another look. It’s infuriating to be and I avoid them like the plague on there. Photos and videos are great.

For me, it's Pinterest or watching Youtube.

Honestly, not having time to do anything gets me inspired because I'm a contrary b*tch. lol. Nothing like going on vacation in 2 days or having to help the husband paint the house to get me thinking of all the projects I need to do *right now!*
I don't take many classes but enjoy YT videos. They make things look fun and doable. Being part of a project that everyone seems to be doing, like Dec Daily can help. Working on projects in the afternoons has become a habit so I tend to look around for something to do after lunch most days. Wanting to use or use up products is motivating to me, and the promise of something being used up and done keeps me going once I'm in the messy middle.

Sketches, challenges, new supplies...and like joblackford, the busier I am with other stuff the more creative I feel

With me, it depends on my mood. When I am feeling creative, the ideas pop and everything seems to flow. And when I am feeling creative, almost anything can strike me as inspiration: an ad on the side of a bus, a magazine or on line article--not necessarily on papercrafting. I see design everywhere. However, when I am feeling tired, or anxious, or blah, the whole process seems like so. much. work.
New photos get my fingers itching, as do new supplies or a new technique I want to try.
When I look for inspiration, I tend to look for examples: a sketch on the theme I am attempting to scrap, a LO I can lift. I find video tutorials and some process videos interesting, but I don't often feel I need to immediately get to work on it.
But really the thing that keeps me crafting is Newton's law of inertia. If I craft a little bit every day, my mind seems open to crafting the next day. Then I actually SEE the inspirational pieces.

Classes? Instagram? Youtube? Design teams? Sketches?
If it's classes..... Attended lots of classes, but not any I can recall that inspired me.
Do you prefer pictures on Pinterest and IG or videos on YouTube? I like all 3. I like to save IG and YouTube videos I like to Pinterest so I can have all my inspiration in one place. But I also save Pins that I find on Pinterest that are not tied to YouTube or IG.
Do you follow design teams to find inspiration for specific collections and supplies? So far, I haven't followed design teams for inspiration for specific collections, but I do save inspiration for specific collections I like when I run across them - I just don't go looking for them by following design teams. (I tend to follow YouTubers that aren't designing for a Design Team, like Janet, MK, and Scrappy Cathy; but I do follow Bramble Fox and Hip Kit too.)
Do you need a jump start from a sketch? Yes! I always need a jump start from something - a sketch, a layout, a video,
Just wondering what gets you started on a layout. I usually get started by first selecting some photos to create a page for, then deciding what I want my page to 'say', then checking Pinterest for a layout or sketch that I think will work best for my story and photos. Then I start selecting supplies for the background of the layout.

My finished scrapbooks inspire me. Having scrapbooks filled with memories and photographs.......motivates me to keep making scrapbooks.
Scrapbooking gives me a place to focus, brings me happiness and good feelings in my heart and soul. Scrapbooking helps distract me on the hard days and the rough days.

YouTube is the winner for me. I’ve never completed a class as I can see what they’ve done and copy if I like from a picture so don’t feel like I get my money’s worth, but I like a voice talking to me in the background while I craft and I love the full process on YouTube. No Insta, reels SUCK, no sketches as I need the finished layout to reference, I’m a visual learner 🙃

I dragged my butt upstairs after work today and printed the photos that I had prepped from December 2022. Now I am excited to get scrapping.
So for me, a big inspiration is having the photos printed. I only print the stories with a story I want to tell. I was also looking at May and June and now want to get going on those. So little time.

Looking at pictures inspires me. While I reminisce I recall stories I want to document.
I’m also inspired by design team projects and pretty papers even though it’s hard to find pictures that go with the papers sometimes.
