I intended to do with for my daughter, who is now a junior in college, but was busy with lots of smaller projects that year and scrapped a PL but really want to go back and make her an album.
Now my son is a senior, just started school a few weeks ago and I feel like this is my opportunity to create one for him in real time, but I would love some design and idea inspiration so hoping the peas have some ideas. It just feels like a unique year to capture with lots of "lasts", facts + feelings moments and planning for the future but I don't want a mishmash of pages and layouts. I would like some kind of structure to it. I am in Ali's new class so will get some design ideas there, but I am really looking for specific inspo around senior year of high school/high school years.
Would love links to any inspo, ideas, etc.
Thanks!

So choir, speech, drama, other activities and included final things, like final choir concert, etc. Then friends, prom, and the actual graduation and then the party. I put things like his certificates for lettering in with the activity.

I hope you get a lot of ideas, because I’ve been toying with this idea too.
My daughter is a junior (can’t believe it), and I wanted to do her HS years overall.

I’m so glad you started this thread! I’ve been working on my dd’s, she graduated in 2020. I’ll be watching this for more ideas. I’ve done her senior pictures and graduation activities, with plans to cover her extracurricular activities, track and art shows. Also plan to have her ‘last first day’, homecoming, and first car/drivers license as well. I won’t have a senior prom due to the pandemic, but she did go to her jr prom and will add that. I’ll probably go backwards and add first day of school for each hs year, I’m sure I have photos. Other than that, I’m not sure what else to add. If I was doing it in real time, it would be easier.

Sort of. I’ve kept school of life albums since preschool with the intent of displaying them at graduation party. When it came time for the party there was only room for her high school album. More than half was dedicated to her senior year. It was her first year back after Covid and she did a lot. I documented all of it. Lots of big milestones, prom, first boyfriend, etc. I did 12x12 pages for prom, awards ceremony, graduation itself and each of her besties got a page. The rest was mostly pocket type scraping. I took flat lay of bullet items like varsity letters, medals, graduation cords, etc.

I did for my older two and probably will for my youngest (she's a junior)
DS31 - He wasn't involved in many school activities and had transferred schools midway through his Jr year. His mostly has graduation related layouts (Grad Bash, Baccalaureate, graduation, grad party...) plus his senior and cap/gown pics. His is 8.5x11
DD23 - Hers is 8x8 and covers all of high school but the majority is her senior year. Her school colours are purple/gold so I focused on purple/gold/black/white as the colour scheme to unify it. I had a title page with a small cap and gown picture. Each year started with the first day of school picture and the school photo for that year. Then pages for anything notable school-related .

Thanks all! Any color or page formula suggestions?
Any other key themes or topics to include?
Did anyone capture future plans or have them write their own facts and feelings?

I used a lot of gold and black, my dd’s hs colors. It works well for her graduation pages. But for her senior photos, I found a really pretty autumn paper pack. It doesn’t bother me that the color scheme is a mix, I’d rather highlight photos rather than force them into a limited color scheme.

I did one for each of my sons, but it was really more of a continuation of their regular books. I started it with a few layouts of their senior pictures and then went through all of the senior milestones (and family stuff) that ended at graduation. One of my kids had to give a speech at graduation and I got a copy of it and tucked it on the page. We also took a trip to Jamaica during spring break and I had a whole album of that.
I have a lot of paper and didn't stick to any theme or color.

Stacy Julian did a 180 day album of one of her sons' senior yr. 1 photo a day and I think it was a 4x6 album.

My daughter is a sophomore and this thread has me in tears. I'm not ready. (HUGS)! It's definitely a bittersweet experience. All the more reason I want to have a plan this year. I did do scrapbooks for my daughter and all of the seniors on both her drill team and her basketball team and it was one of my favorite things I have scrapbooked as a special project.

My daughter is a sophomore and this thread has me in tears. I'm not ready. I have a sophomore AND a freshman (only two kids). It s all happening so quickly! I am enjoying this stage (mostly) but feel like the end is rush at us. I don't want to go backwards, just wanting things to slow down a bit.

just wanting things to slow down a bit. Yes! This is it. Just slow down. We bought her homecoming dress the other day. She was born yesterday. How is she going to homecoming and learning to drive. I only have 1.

I’ve done 5 a couple of different ways. The first, and my favorite was my oldest niece’s. She was in theater her senior year, so hers is every play she was in, and any memorabilia (mostly photos of the programs. I didn’t have access to the actual programs.) Two of the last pages were left empty , but decorated blank pages for her to journal about her journey, and a letter to her written by her theater director folded up in a pocket at the bottom of the right hand page (this was a secret.). The very last page was an updated Sr yr photo with a quote written on it, and the title “And now for the encore”. Her opening page had the title “You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.”
None of the other 4 kids had something super specific that they did that year, so they were more random pics of special events (prom), all the things they did with their friends, and graduation pics. They all began with a childhood photo and a title about their future (“Snapshots of my future”, “And so it begins”, “Oh the places you’ll go”, “Be your own kind of beautiful”. I ended those with a letter to each one telling them how I enjoyed watching them grow, how proud I was of them, and a prayer for their future. All of them had a last updated photo with a quote written on it.

Texas Scrap, I added a couple more things to my original answer. I also meant to say that these were 12x12 albums, and all 40-60 pages! They were STUFFED.

I’m planning to do this for my son (he’s a sophomore in college). I bought 2 6x8 albums from Citrus Twist. Scrapbook Generation has a line that has school colors, scrapbookgeneration.com/sg-exclusives/paper-collections/graduation/ and while it’s for 2023, there are a lot of papers and embellishments that don’t specifically have 2023 on them, so I bought the blue and the yellow (his colors are blue and “gold”). My plan is to do it chronologically with the milestones and activities, and include photos with his friends and them hanging out too. I had wanted to start by now, so I need to get going! I will also make some 12x12 pages to go in his overall school album, including the larger team/group photos there.
