Good morning.
Acupuncture was sooooo good yesterday. I came home sooooo relaxed and ready to heal.
Dinner is whatever dh thinks he can handle. What's on your menu?
What is everyone up to today?
destined2bmom, I don't know if you're able to read the thread, but I want you to know that you're in my thoughts and I hope to hear from you here, soon.
tanya2, I'm thinking the best thoughts for your dh's MRI today. In the middle of your storm, there's a safe dock here.
Take care my tribe and make the most of your day!

Sending hugs and prayers to all who need them. So glad the acupuncture was relaxing scrapmaven . DS arrived home late last night from his business trip to Dallas. I think he was happy to get back to the Bay breezes! Dinner tonight will be something with chicken. I'll decide after a trip to the grocery store.

I want to send shouts out to destined2bmom who I hope is getting better and will join us again soon. tanya2 I read your post this morning and the universe sometimes knows better than us what is the right thing to do, hence the slip up with your DD. Honestly, it's much better that she knows. This is tough and you all need to rally around as a family right now. You need her as much as she needs you. lucyg I'm sorry for the chemo hold up, hopefully your doc can get to the bottom of it soon. I was so jealous of your acupuncture appointment scrapmaven that I scheduled myself one for tomorrow evening. Hahaha! I'll sleep like a baby. I deserve it. You know I sat today, just sat, almost meditation, but I just tried to let my mind go. And I realized something, I keep saying I'm feeling better than I have in years. And I really do believe that. But I was thinking about how overjoyed I am with that despite the fact that when I actually sit quietly and attempt to clear my mind I realized that I still have a very weird sensation in my head, it is kind of like a pressure with a bit of dizziness, I feel sick to my stomach nearly all the time whether it is empty or full, I clench my teeth without even knowing it until I have pain in my teeth and jaw. This is why I don't like to sit still. LOL! Because I go on ignoring all those things all the damn time and just thinking I feel fabulous. So I scheduled the acupuncture appointment afterward and I just thought it might be helpful to relieving some of these weird low lying things that even good medicine can't take away. I'm not going to let them get in my way, or I should say, it's clear I don't let them get in my way. But I guess I also don't really stop to think about things like this and pausing this morning just really made me consider how the inside of my body feels. Tonight I'll be having dinner at Mom's. No idea what's for dinner but she did ask if we like brussel sprouts.

cadoodlebug, when I told dh that they played soccer for fun and socialization and not for competitive sport at 3 years old he was shocked. I don't know what he expected them to do at that age. I used to chuckle a lot when we'd discuss what happened at soccer that day. Well they played for 30 minutes and then had a snack. This isn't extreme soccer, dear. jeremysgirl, I'm guessing you're having side effects from the Lithium, too. It does have some obscure side effects. I'm so happy to hear that you're gonna do acupuncture. I always want to be that kid your parents want you to play w/. hehe. So excited for you.

I'm never sure it is a side effect of the medicine or a symptom of the illness that the medicine just doesn't manage. Either way, I have always accepted that medicine is not magic and these things have to be managed by me. I guess the good news is that I am able to ignore them or at the very least unconsciously adapt to them to the point where it isn't even obvious until I'm just trying to sit quietly and clear my mind. So, to sum up, I guess I'm not feeling too bad. Haha...but I am going to tell my acupuncturist that I am hoping for some calmness and clarity in my head.

Happy Last Day of August! How did that happen so quickly? I'm just thankful this month is nearly out the door. We have had 100+ temps nearly every day this month, including two days at an all time high of 109. I've never been more ready for September and hopefully a break in the temperatures. This morning I'm getting some things marked off my to do list, then after lunch I am heading down to the Museum of Fine Arts. There are a couple of exhibit that are ending soon I want to see. It's also free general admission day so an added bonus. One my way there I'm stopping by the longarmer's to pick up two projects she just finished for me - one is a gift and one is for me. Dinner tonight will be rechauffe. Hope everyone has a great day and marks everything off their to-do lists! scrapmaven - So glad the accupuncture made you feel relaxed! lucyg - Thinking of you and hoping they get the show back on the road soon with your treatments. destined2bmom - Sending you lots of get well soon wishes. Hope you are doing well. scrappintoee - Hope you are feeling better these days and still busy in your scrapbook room!

I love needles in the head, because that means calllllllmmmmmmm.
**GypsyGirl** , have a nice time at the exhibit today. Great way to spend a few hours.

Late check in from me today. I met up with my friend and her DD for a trip out of town to a ‘Wildpark’ - like a zoo, but totally open plan and all German (mainly Bavarian) animals. We ended up spending 5 hours there, walking, letting S play on the playground and watching a birds of prey show. I walked 8.6km altogether!
DH beat me home so he started dinner. Unfortunately, I forgot to buy pastry for the ricotta/spinach pie that we had planned, so he switched out with tomorrow’s plan and made pumpkin risotto, which was delicious.

karenlou We have a golden with a long coat. The hair problem is real!😂. I can brush him, vacuum and a second later clumps of fur appear. scrapmaven we did little kid soccer too for preschoolers. Met one of my closest friends at one of those classes. Tomorrow back to the vet and hopefully no more cone and back to walking. Did some gardening and I have a list of to dos for today. Love and prayers for lucyg, the scrapmaven duo, destined2bmom, tanya2 DH and scrappintoee. Tonight is leftover Turkey and I will make Korean Vegetable pancakes again since I picked a zucchini this morning. Lowest production zucchini plant I have ever had.

hugs and prayers for lucyg , the scrapmaven 's, destined2bmom , tanya2 DH and scrappintoee . jeremysgirl ~ wishing you peace as you continue your journey. I spent the day with my dgs. He finally got his passport and we went over to Buffalo shopping. I let him wander into stores, had breakfast and Bob Evan's and lunch at Olive Garden. My tummy is paying the price for this. The Walmart in America are HUGE compared to here so I just let him wander and also thru Cabela's and Dick's Sporting goods. In exchange he let me indulge at Hobby Lobby (fabric was 40% off). Such a kind, wonderful young man he has become. Said please & thank you, opened doors for me, he is just a great kid. He was impressed that his Oma didn't require gps (I know the area quite well). I let him pick out a few treats at Aldi's. No issues at the border both ways and we chatted & laughed all day long. I am tired but a good, productive tired. Tea & toast for dinner. **GypsyGirl** ~ I purchased the backing fabric at Hobby Lobby for a quilt and will take 4 quilts to the longarmer tomorrow. Have fun sewing on all the bindings.

quiltz, sounds like a very special bond w/your dgs. Is he a little boy or grown? Ods has always been a good shopper. To this day I can take him anywhere and he'll just walk w/me as I browse scrap stuff or even purses. I was always lucky that I had a toddler who liked to be out and about and didn't fuss. Thank you ladies. Dh is much better and now he just has to recover. It's gonna take some time for me, but that's normal. You're very sweet to be concerned. Thank you Marina.

DH and I went to the theatre this afternoon to see Rock of Ages. It’s a musical with all music from the 80’s. It was soooo good! Even DH loved it and he’s not a theatre guy. My mom babysat Walker for us and she said he was also very good.
Supper tonight was chicken tenders and salad.

**GypsyGirl** ~ I purchased the backing fabric at Hobby Lobby for a quilt and will take 4 quilts to the longarmer tomorrow. Have fun sewing on all the bindings. I hope your quilts all turn out great! Very happy with mine. I have the longarmer trim my quilts for me so sewing on the binding goes quickly. It's the sewing the binding down by hand that takes forever. Debating sewing the playmat binding down by machine. Ever done that? Pointers?

My sister and I went to her county fair. We spent hours in the quilts. Neither of us know how but our grandmother did. She got Alzheimer’s when we were teens so she didn’t get to teach us. I’m thinking of finding us lessons. A woman in my enamel studio is a quilt consultant so I’m going to ask her. Bought lots at the Italian grocery and went to the local farm and bought cherries and tomatoes. Came home to take dh to Mohs surgery tomorrow on his shoulder. He was a lifeguard when he was young and is paying now. He doesn’t believe me that he won’t be able to golf with stitches. Had corn & tomatoes for dinner. taylortroop I need to see if that’s in our season coming up. We got a subscription again.

Happy Last Day of August! Happy first day of September from Downunder, which also means, happy first day of spring! I can see the light on the horizon.... sunny days are a-comin'. I worked until after 7pm yesterday, so I didn't have a chance to organise dinner. DSO looked after himself, and I ended up defrosting some lasagne that I had made for DS for when we were overseas. He didn't end up eating it. Why did I waste my time even making it?! Oh yeah, that's right - so I would have something to eat 2 months later when I had to work late! tanya2 I am so sorry for everything that you and your husband are going through right now. I hope you get some more positive news soon.
