I've been wanting to use a TN but haven't had a project that fit in my mind. I came up with the idea of doing a plant journal: a place I can record name, when I received the plant, growing conditions, notes, photos, etc. This would be for potted plants mostly, maybe a few outdoor plants. But not a garden that you replant each year. I'm thinking that I'd want to be able to add pages for a specific plant as I fill them up with doesn't work for a TN. I saw someone post about using the happy planner disk for a TN and new covers that someone is now selling. Way too expensive for this fun mini project but made me thinking maybe a disk system would be a good option. I have a friend that uses this and could probably get some hand me downs to try from her.
Anyone keep a plant journal? Please share what you do!

Maybe a Simple Stories Sn@p album would work? There’s different options for them on Amazon. You can add the pages as you go. I have used the binder style and the more notebook style. You can use the 6x8 refills for both styles, and they come with divided pocket refills or regular refills.
Sounds like a fun project!

Hmm I didn't think of a binder cuz that seems more formal to me... A good consideration I just don't want it to be a scrapbook. I do already have a small binder that I could use. Hmmm

I’m on my phone so I can’t link but when I get on my computer I’ll try to remember to find it. It uses the same refills.

(I think I was able to link to Amazon from the app on my phone) Simple Stories SNAP FLIPBOOK 6X8 White, Whitewashed Wood a.co/d/aJNaaFiEdit: the link doesn’t seem to work on here for some reason… but If you type in those keywords you should find it there

Thanks! The link did work for me. That does seem like it would be a good fit!
I already have that binder which has been sitting unused so I think I'm going to try to make that work. It is thinner than most other binders so I think it will be more notebook like. I'm going to have to make my own custom pages since I don't want page protectors for the most part and the notebook paper that came with it is too thin for what I want to do. But it is also 6x8 so I will be able to easily print my own pages which would be fun and satisfy my need for an easy structure.

My issue is that I want more flexibility than a TN would allow as I'd want to be able to add pages to sections as I filled them up. I'm thinking I'd have a two page template for a particular plant and then if I fill that up I'd want to add more pages right after.

I say go with the small binder you already have. It’s a fun little project and once you start you’ll know what shortfalls the bill det you have has - might be perfect, might not but you didn’t spend any money to find out what not working.
I did once keep gardening plans in a binder, when I recently moved I chucked a bunch of that but I did give my DD the one she made. Lol You never know what you’ll find years from now when you look back thru it!

I love this idea! I’d probably go with a TN style. Take a photo, make some notes, leave room for follow-up comments.

A Field Notes journal! Love this idea! Didn’t Ali do a TN about what’s growing in her garden?
