The background - I’ve pretty much been laid up for the past few weeks and will be for a while longer. Due to back issues I can’t access my computer, craft table, kitchen table, etc. I pretty much live in one reclining chair for now. Thank goodness for my iPad and Kindle! Trying to cheer me up, my husband put up a couple of hummingbird feeders and we now have a “gang” of hummingbirds hanging around. They spend all day fighting!
Today is my husband’s birthday and in trying to at least get a card for him, I flipped through my stash of cards, most of which were created during C & C Cardmaking events. Most cards were too cutsie for him, but then I found it! It was from my first event. I think it was Libby and Hero Arts, and it was a hummingbird! (Anyone remember that one?) So he got a b’day card from me and the hummingbirds!
Now the best part. You can tell that he’s really turned into a scrapping hubby. He admires the card and then turns it on it’s edge and says, “You put some foam under here to make it stick up like that, didn’t you?” The engineer in him has started to dissect my work. 😁
Thanks for reading. Can you tell I’m bored? 😜

I love watching hummingbirds. I hope they continue to brighten your day. Love the story behind the card.

I love your story lindamh! So sweet! My husband got me a hummingbird feeder for my birthday and it's right outside my kitchen window - we have 2 birds that hang out there all the time. I didn't attend the first C&CD so I haven't made any hummingbird cards. But I love the idea of making a hummingbird card for my husband, I will definitely do that!

I love it when others appreciate the work that goes into a handmade card.
I hope you are feeling 100% percent soon. Take care!

Awww, that is beyond sweet! What a *good* husband you've got there. Wait until the hummers start telling their friends about your feeders...pretty soon you'll be buying sugar in 25 pound bags.
I sure hope that you're on the mend soon. I completely understand your boredom. Several years back I was laid up after foot surgery (non weight bearing) for 6 weeks. On my own. And pretty well confined to my upstairs. It is a drag when stuff like this happens, and I sure hope you never have to go through this again. Feel better soon, and hang out here more, we'll chat your ears off!

Thanks so much for the comments and encouragement. I really appreciate it!
And, the hubby is definitely one of the good ones. We didn’t marry until we were in our mid-40’s so we were old enough to appreciate what we had together. It will be 20 years this October (yes, I’m that old!) and he still thinks I’m the best!
