So far I've received my NJFB kits, my Cocoa Daisy kit, and my Club Scrap kits. I haven't received Hip Kit yet.
I read what all is included in the kit before I buy but somehow it doesn't register until I get the actual product in front of me.
My thoughts:
Cocoa Daisy. I bought the September Daily Journal kit. This kit was pricey (46.95) but absolutely loaded with product. All are exclusive. Lots of two-sided papers, two of each. Very usable. No cardstock. There is a slight sheen. Tons of die cuts, both paper and acetate. Two alphabets- one die cut cardstock, one puffy adhesive. Rub-ons. Tags. Vellum. Washi Tape. I love how much matching product there is. That month's style is very grungy and I like that so I'm excited to work with the kit.
Club Scrap. I bought Kids rule and Shoreline. (32.95) Club Scrap papers are exclusive. The patterned paper is very, very shiny. The patterns are lovely but it will be a new experience dealing with all of that shine. Lots of cardstock- some textured, some smooth. I love both of the themes. What I really like about these kits are the fun embellishments. The die cuts are on cut-apart sheets. Both kits had metal charms and 3 types of ribbon/twine. Shoreline had sparkly resin shells and Kids rule had black envelopes and fun hearts made of Lego style pieces. I'm a sucker for embellishments that aren't just die cuts. I'm looking forward to this one, too.
NJFB. I bought Rad (35) and Harvest Plaid (24). Their papers are not exclusive. Harvest Plaid is mostly from the same Simple Stories line. Rad is mostly Paper Rose. I already own bits and pieces of both lines, but I don't mind that- I just throw those pieces in with the kit. Harvest Plaid had a Thicker's alphabet and really cool crochet style pumpkins and flowers. It also has a mixed media mist with it. It is a smaller kit but looks pretty versatile and the colors are so pretty. I bought the ribbon pack a la carte to go with this- the ribbons are gorgeous. Rad is their larger kit but I was disappointed in the amount of product in it this month. It had lots of patterned paper (Paper Rose is shiny) but not a lot of variety in the embellishments. It has a huge amount of 49 & Market film strips, metal camera charms, a Thicker's alphabet, and some Paper Rose die cuts. The colors are absolutely gorgeous and really will work well for boy layouts but I like more fiddly bits to work with. It seems like the amount of stuff included in their kits is going down again. I'm again eager to see what I can do with them but I wish there were more embellishments. Not their best month. Someone on here mentioned that NJFB seems to be all over the place and I agree with that. I've bought from them since the first week they opened so I know a lot more about them than the other kits. I do love all of their a la carte embellishments. That is where they really shine.
I'll report back when I get my Hip Kit subscription.
