Is it just me, or does the recreation not particularly resemble the painting? I mean, I'd call it more "influenced heavily be" rather than a recreation. NOT that I could do any better on a single square inch of it, mind you!

I agree. In the painting for example, the top layers with the gold look more translucent than the fabric on the recreation.

The recreated dress definitely is off. It's more of the designer's interpretation.
