I'm constantly in sticker shock when I shop. I started scrapping 20+ years ago and things have gone up and up and up since then. I think the two things I'm most willing to pay a crazy price for are Doodlebug die cuts ($9.99) and 49 & Market die cuts/laser cuts ($7.99). I shake my head every time I put them in my cart but I love both of these items and there is so much product in each pack. I can make an endless amount of layouts with them. I will admit to buying Thickers ($6.59 - $6.99) now and then. I have a crazy amount of them collected over the years but sometimes they come out with a new font I can't resist. I miss going to Big Lots, Tuesday Morning, Ollie's, etc. and getting them for $1.50-$3.00 a piece. I hate that discount stores no longer have them. For paper, definitely 49 & Market ($1.50). I love the colors, the mixed media look, and the thickness. They are a joy to work with and I love them for backgrounds because they are so sturdy. What is the most expensive product/embellishment you buy? What excuses do you tell yourself as you buy it?

The most expensive thing I buy on a regular basis is stamp sets. I kind of think of them as not counting though because they last forever and hold resale value to some degree…. At least that’s my perspective on it and I’m sticking with it. 😋
As far as consumables go, probably puffy stickers. They usually run 4-6 dollars a set and don’t really go that far.

Embellishments from a scrapbook collection I could only find in Canada, shipping was more than price if embellishments.
Everything Ali Edwards for DD and WITL.

stamps and dies probably but provided I actually USE them, their cost/use can be lower

As a card maker, it has to be hot foil dies. Especially the hot foil dies that have the matching cutting dies. They are pricey for me. Because the dies I like are often from smaller companies, I find myself putting the item in my cart only to find that the S&H is equal to or more than the actual die. I end up backing out more than actually buying. Sigh.

Stamps! Can’t believe I spend almost $30 on a 6x8 stamp set and I have loads. This year I spent a lot on Halloween & DD products. I need to go into a deep freeze next year.

Albums.

Definitely albums. I also happen to love lots of 49 and Market and that stuff isn't cheap. Years ago, my friend had a vendor code for WRMK and she found a bunch of albums for $10 each. When she put them in her basket, they turned out to be about $2.50 each. We bought over 80 of them. With shipping, they were about $5 each. I bought a ton of them and still have some left. Now they are $40 each and I have hard time even looking at that price. If I can find them for $15-20, I'll buy them.
We have s second hand craft store in town and I go once a week and mainly look at their stamps and dies. So many brand new or unused sets to find. They are usually $2-$8 each. I feel like if I can spend just a fraction on most of my supplies, I can go hog wild on some supplies.

I'm not sure which is the most expensive but my top 2 would have to be:
Hot foil plates (coordinating dies, stamps, and stencils)
Stamps with coordinating dies and stencils
My biggest problem is wanting the complete suite of something if I truly like it.

What an amazing deal on those albums, that must have been so much fun buying those.

Definitely dies. I think I paid almost $40 for the one I’m using on my Christmas cards, one of the layered dies. I’m okay with that since it’s for a whole set of cards. And I really like it so I’m sure it’ll make it onto a few scrapbook pages.
Consumables? Recently, 49th & Market embellishments.

Stamp and die sets but I don’t buy them all that regularly. Next is paper collections with an accompanying sticker sheet, chipboard dies, or ephemera.
I usually wait until there’s a sale.

It used to be the refills for the X 150 sticker maker. I LOVED that thing. I have given up on finding them though. I guess stamps would be the most expensive, but you can use them over and over.

The most expensive....
Product: An all inclusive kit (Paper, stickers, embellishment, alphabet, cut outs, etc...). Some only come this way and items are not sold separately.
Embellishment: Sheet of stickers or thickers. Back in the older days. Bottles of Prima flowers. Bottles of them All the individual colors and all the assorted colors.

I exclusively scrapbook &, consistent with my style, use pattern paper sparingly & few embellishments. I have a existing inventory of versatile stamps, dies, & empty albums. The most expensive product I currently purchase is (non-layered) stencils at $5.99-$7.99/each. No excuses needed.

Anything that I buy from a store that is a traditional paper scrapping store that now sells digital as well. They are really expensive compared to regular digital scrapping stores. eg. American Crafts Digital

Albums, for sure, are the most expensive. I also like to buy a variety of sizes of page protectors. The 6x8 and 8x8 come in handy for brochures and other ephemera.
It's all getting expensive.

Thickers and ephemera. I don’t usually pay attention to prices. I don’t buy entire collections, so if there is a particular product I want, I’ll get it, sometimes 2-4 of them. 49 & Market and Cocoa Vanilla Studios are my biggest offenders, and sometimes PinkFresh Studio and Simple Stories.
Once in a while, I’ll buy metal dies and stamps.

I have no LSS, so I shop online. What keeps jumping into my shopping cart are dies and occasionally stamps.

If it's just scrap product, then kits like December Daily. That's usually my biggest scrap purchase of the year.
But if it's scrapbooking-related, then definitely printer ink. I have an old Canon that I still love but the ink is very expensive.

I find 49 and Market hard to resist, and as ArtBabe mentioned, their patterned cardstock and embellishments are priced higher than many other brands. Other than that, the other two types of expensive items I occasionally purchase are stamp sets and metal dies.

I don’t own a machine for dies and embossing, thank god, because I can’t imagine how much I would spend.
I do buy stamps occasionally. I don’t do cards so they have to be something pretty generic. Stamps are expensive.
I do buy stencils. Those are crazy expensive for a small sheet of plastic ($5-8). I do buy buck ones from Temu (I know, I know….)
I thought of something that is crazy expensive for what you get- acrylic pieces. They look so good, though, I can’t resist…

Another "think about this" question artbabe. I agree with the 49 & Market purchases - they do cost a little extra and I have to limit what I buy but their products are just a little extra special. Albums are a big expense but Boy! the selection of album choices has really dwindled over the past few years. After AC took over WRMK their 8.5x11 3-ring choices practically disappeared and the really beautiful Project Life 3-ring binders are gone. I apologize for the side-rant. A coupla items that I buy that I hate to pay the price for are Thickers and enamel dots. I'm trying to concentrate on using up the ones I have instead of buying any more.

I guess stamps would be the most expensive, but you can use them over and over. you can get those X refills on Amazon... a lot of crafters use them for diamond painting kitting up... I use my X and the bigger xyron all the time...

Albums, buying atg adhesive in bulk, and buying a lot of things from one collection. It adds up quickly when you want all the things.
