Watching the cooking shows *STILL* and wondering about the prettypretty hostesses with their hair pulled forward to frame their faces. And they're LEANING over the pan on the stove, the curled tresses inches away from the food and stove top.
I use a clip to get mine out of the way when I cook. I'm NOT persnickety about many things, but it just feels sloppy to me NOT to have my hair pulled back when I'm standing at the stove.

Always. Actually, I wear it back much of the time because it makes me crazy on the back of my neck.

Yes, always, I really have to. I have very thick, long hair - but I don't understand how I'm not bald, I shed so much hair each day.

Yes, I pull it back if I'm doing anything more involved than putting something on to boil. If there is cutting/prep involved, hair is back.

yes, and I also have to have it pulled back to drive. Not that cooking and driving are related.

I have shorter hair and I always clip it up. I also always wear an apron (I am a food magnet).
I like the way Sara Moulton presents herself.
She used to have a message board years ago and she actually was active on it. Pretty cool. You could converse with her.

Always. If for no other reason than I can hear my mother's voice "get your hair out of the food!"

I do! I just don't like hair in the food, or the possibility of it. LOL!!

95% of the time. If I am cooking for clients, 100% of the time. If I'm at home, it depends on what I am doing but most of the time it's up and out of the way.
TV cooking drives me crazy because it's rarely accurate. Particularly on competition shows.

Always! Terrified that I might end up with hair in what I serve.

My hair is only chin length but I tuck it behind my ears or put a clip in it when I cook.

Mine is pulled up or back most of the time but especially when I'm cooking. Hair in my own food gags me...I can't imagine subjecting anyone to my hair in their food

Yes, it's pinned up and usually covered with a hair net too. I had a summer job as a cook and got used to covering my hair then - now it feels odd not to cover it while cooking.

Not usually intentionally, but yes - I like to have my hair in a ponytail when I'm puttering around the house, which includes cooking. I definitely intentionally pull it up when I am canning.

I always make sure it is away from my face when I BBQ in case something flames up. I don't want singed hair. It is summer now so I am having to pin it up or put it in a ponytail just about every day. Drives me crazy plus my hair is itchy on my skin.
If I have straightened my hair and I am not cooking I leave it down. It is fine then.

I have very long hair and it's ALWAYS up when I cook. And still, I find hair in the food sometimes.

Mine is up in a clip most of the time because I am always hot. Most definitely when I am cooking. I also check my clothing, because I shed so much, that I often have stray hairs on my clothes, and they have a tendency to end up in the food.

Always. I prefer the look of it down, but I always have a hair bobble/scrunchie on my wrist ready to tie my hair up the minute I cook, clean, scrapbook etc. I can't stand it in my face when I'm busy!

I always do because I don't want hair in the food. Also, in restaurant kitchens I think it's a health department requirement so I figure there must be a good reason for that. I wonder about this when I watch shows like Masterchef. Some of the women are always cooking with hair hanging. I can't believe Gordon Ramsey allows that in the kitchens of his restaurants! lol

Yes I do! For one, it gets in my way and bothers me if I don't. Second, I want to avoid getting loose hairs in my food.

Yes, but I'm also one to have my hair in a pony tail or clipped up any time I'm home. If it's a holiday or nice dinner, I'll take it down before I sit down to eat.
