I'm in the process of packing up some very fragile china to be shipped several states away from Buffalo, NY.
Which delivery service is the best, that would take the most care?
Also, where to get the proper packing materials to ensure safe / no breakage along the way?
The peas know it all, so here is the call out. Thanks.

I've used UPS with a breakable item. I would use a ton of bubble wrap..UPS has it along with boxes.

Just a personal bias, but not FedEx. I am currently trying to get a package delivered. It was 30 miles away a week ago and has been back and forth to Ocala, 200 miles away three times. They keep saying it will be delivered "tomorrow", but clearly they have no idea. They're a mess, as is Eddie Bauer who couldn't give a rat's @$$ if the package is lost.

I prefer UPS for fragile items. Just be sure to use plenty of bubble wrap and styrofoam peanuts. For really special items, I will pad well and box, then put that box in a larger box with more peanuts. No breakage to date using that system.

Double box. Do not allow any wiggle room in either box. Stuff it completely full so nothing can shift at all. Be sure to pad between dishes - don't let any of them touch one another directly. Pool noodles are great for shipping. I have slit down the length of them to wrap the edges of framed art or to go around a large platter. They also work great for padding between the inside box and the outside box. They'll absorb so much of the impact if the box gets thrown or crushed. I get heavy duty moving boxes from Lowe's to pack china (not the thinner ones - get the heavy duty). Office supply stores sell bubble wrap and packing peanuts.

Such great advice here! Wrap each item in bubble wrap. Place in a sturdy box, making sure everything is TIGHT. Then put that box in a padded box. That is the only way.
