Happy Thursday peas! I hope you are enjoying Sketchtember thus far and have been able to participate, even if just a little. Thursday sketches during Sketchtember will focus on color - this week the focus is on the rainbow or more specifically ROYGBIV. Feel free to take this in whichever direction suits you - go for all pastels, jewel tones or something more modern that uses pink for the "R" if you'd like. Including neutrals is okay, too! For the sketch we're using another from Creating Keepsakes circa February 2011. The zoomed in sample is a little fuzzy, so I've also included the link to the sketch on Pinterest if you prefer. For my layout I've chosen to go a bit dark with my rainbow, but all the hues are there. I've stayed very close to the original sketch as it worked well for my selected photos. 4th Quarter Team Points: If you are on team, collect FIVE (5) points for creating something based on the sketch. ONE (1) point for using the twist on ANY project. Bonus of TWO (2) points for both the sketch and twist on one project (so total of 8 points for that). Bonus of 500 points for completing ALL of the sketches by October 7th. Plus, you get to add a checkmark to your monthly collection each time you meet a SKETCHtember challenge, to include in your monthly bonus points. grammadee

GREAT layout Ryann, I love how you have taken a very pared back sketch and added so much interest to your page. I will leave more comments in the gallery.

I really like how you added a cluster in with the title on your example so I lifted that idea on my page.

Here is my take on this. I didn't post it right away b/c I was thinking, since it was a calendar page, the photos should be bigger and I might redo it. But then I remembered who I am and that I know how to call it quits and move on LOL. The rainbow is mostly in the stars of the background pp around the edges, but I used several of the colours in the mats as well. September '24 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

I love how your design came out - the cluster with the title really works for this sketch. Love the use of the speech bubble and the arrows. Thank you for playing along! Here is my take on this. It pairs so well with back-to-school photos with these handsome, smiling faces. I love the staggered title that runs right into the photos that are a bit wonky. Fun and playful like your subjects. Thank you for playing along!

I hope I have enough colours to count as a rainbow?

I hope I have enough colours to count as a rainbow? Yes, definitely! I love how you've included a larger rectangular embellishment - such a great fit for the sketch! Thank you for playing along!!
