Hi football fans! LSU hosts Arkansas this Saturday. I don't know if this has made mainstream media but our strong safety, #3 Greg Brooks, had a brain tumor removed last Thursday. He had been dizzy and having bouts of vertigo so our coach said it's time for an MRI. They discovered the tumor and operated the next day. That's why Coach Kelly gave the game ball from the Miss State game to Greg. We knew he was out for a medical emergency but had no idea what was happening. He transferred to LSU from Arkansas so the players are dedicating this game to him.

Hotty Toddy! Ole Miss (15) plays Alabama (13) in Tuscaloosa. Fingers crossed that the Bama team that played last week is the one that shows up this week! . Miss State travels to S. Carolina.

DS, who was born and went to college in Louisiana, says he is contractually obligated to root for LSU, especially considering his school dis not have a football program.
My Hog wreath is on the front door and the Ole Miss one is hanging on an interior door.
Just hoping we're not crushed like last week against Washington, who either showed us that they're a great team or that we really stink. Might be both!

Family rivalries in the SEC are so much fun! We fly flags on game day for both Ole Miss and Miss State. Last year I finally bought a House Divided flag. No more deal making to see which flag hangs when they play at the same time - or play each other!

Who does your team play?
GEAUX TIGERS!
I hope he is okay!
We play LA Tech. Home game. Hoping for win #2. Our starting running back is out for the season. One of the back ups is out for the season. Still don't know who will start at QB.
Purdue hosts Wisconsin tonight. I love night games. Just wish we were going. Not sure what to expect. I know we can’t turn the ball over 5 or 6 times like we did last week.

Georgia plays UAB at 7:30. I'm excited to have a real night game! I love our red lights and our light the stadium tradition at the beginning of the 4th quarter. We were the first to do that BTW! Goooo Dawgs!!

Oregon State University is playing against my team, Washington State University, tomorrow at 7pm.
The PAC-12 is being dissolved, as 10 of the 12 PAC-12 schools have decided to move conferences. The only two schools remaining are OSU and WSU. This season has been chaotic, at best, and there is a very real possibility that this is the last season WSU plays at this level if the school can't find a Power 5 conference to join. My dad, who graduated from WSU, is devastated by the news. My understanding (which is admittedly limited) is that the Mountain West conference is a possibility, however, revenue would decline from the current $38(ish) million to $5(ish) million, making recruiting and retaining current coaches nearly impossible. The whole thing is a mess and I'm not sure if WSU will have a functioning football program after this. I am watching the games each week with a feeling of dread.
My Oklahoma Sooners play Cincinnati at Cincinnati. We are favored to win the game.
My second favorite team is Norte Dame (my son is a grad). Norte Dame has a huge game with Ohio State Saturday night. We are going to a wedding (who gets married during football season? 😂). My son is in the wedding. I’m sure he’ll be looking for a tv at the reception.

We just found out that we've got one to attend next Oct (2024)! I guess the bride & groom aren't die hard football fans!

I did and I'm a huge football fan. The wedding and reception were over by 4 giving everyone in attendance plenty of time to get to Tiger Stadium for the 7:30 kickoff!
And the next day we attended the 49ers/Saints game in the Superdome!

I am really worried about how my Terps will do at this game. I was hoping to go, but we have season tickets for Maryland and we live 5 hrs. away. I haven't been home on a weekend since the second week of August, so I needed a traveling break. My team has not done well the first half of their games, so we can't let that happen in the Big 10 games. So I am very nervous, but I hope we win!
I have family in Michigan and lived there in the late 1990s. I love Michigan, so if we aren't playing them, i always pull for Michigan and Michigan State!
My nephew's D3 team plays at Catholic University in DC. They went a day early and did some sightseeing. Many of the team had never been there. Not sure the game will take place since I believe it's nasty weather there!!

I, unfortunately, am one of the 10-13% who gets a rebound load of the virus after finishing Paxlovid. ☹️
On Sunday, when I had finished my Paxlovid, I still had a very faint positive test. But, the CDC said I was safe to go to work masked. My class was so far behind after I missed 3 days the week before, so I’ve been in teaching masked all week. Yesterday, I woke up feeling really crummy and congested, so I tested and I am very strongly positive again. Woke up today with a massive headache and no sense of taste or smell.
So, no leaving the house for me for the rest of the 3-day weekend - our school district is taking Yom Kippur off. It is the first time in my long life that I have officially been given Yom Kippur off. It is the first time our school district has taken it off as a holiday. They are doing a good job of spreading the religious holidays around this year (Christian, Jewish, Muslim, and Hindu).
COVID is still very much here in the USA and it can kick your butt. My dh had a very mild case, but I am struggling (given my history with cancer and chemo, not too surprising). I am so upset that I came down with it just 1 week before the new vaccine was made available. I firmly believe that I finally got it because It was just over a year since my last booster and my immunity was waning. Get the vaccine!!!

It depends on when the game is. Right now it is light rain, but heavier rain because of the tropical storm is due in around 3-4.

I’m in that 10-13% too. First part of December 2022, tested -6 days later. Then I got up probably a week after testing negative and felt like crap and sure enough tested positive again
