I feel like "around x time" is either 15min before or 15min after. I do feel like some people use it when they can't give a specific time. At 2:28pm is not "around 2pm" IMO.

10-15 minutes either way. Any more than that and you’d better be calling or texting to let me know what’s up.
When I have someone coming for something on our buy nothing group, I tell them I’m putting it outside on my porch at such and so time and they can come get it at their leisure. I do appreciate a heads up when they’re on the way to make sure my big stupid dog is inside. He’s overly friendly and sometimes likes to jump up on people or their cars so it’s just better if he’s not outside when strangers come to the door. If I’m the one picking something up I try to let them know when I’m leaving and approximately when I’ll get there.

as a stickler to time, "around" doesn't register well with me. i could accept up to 10 minutes before or after. and that's being generous. ok, i lied. i really mean 5 minutes.

I am in the 10-15 minutes before or after group. At 20 minutes after I’d try to contact them if they were still coming. 2:30 is not ‘around’ 2pm because it’s equally close to 3pm so therefore ‘officially’ past ‘around 2pm’. IMO
