Good morning, Peas and grammadee ! CARDtober Thursdays will be all about 2-for-1 card making (yes, I probably should have chosen Tuesdays!). We're starting with this 2-for-1 One Sheet Wonder using one 6x6 double-sided patterned paper: This was adapted by Crafty Al from one of her Sheet Load of Card sketches; here is her 2-for-1 video (with links to the full SLoC video as well): Twist: other card sizes. Here's mine: Since my paper was actually 6x8, I realized after I made my initial duo that I could adapt the sketch for A2 landscape. Do you have a different smaller size of patterned paper? I know Michael's has 3.5 x 7.7 (slimline) and SB.C has 4.25 x 5.5 (A2) patterned paper pads. What smaller size(s) do you have in patterned paper? What size cards can you adapt the sketch to and make a two-for-one (if double-sided) or two-for-two (if single-sided)?

Great challenge Shakti. Love both of your card sets. I think I will go with the A2 sized cards too.

Lovely cards Shakti I'll have to take a look and see what I've got to play with. I prefer to do A2 cards wherever I can but most of my paper is 6x6.

Thank you both. It was you, azcrafty, who recommended Simple Stories PP for card making, wasn't it? Took your advice

Those are wonderful cards, Shakti ! I tried a couple of versions. In the first one, I didn’t like the B side of the paper as much, so I just used it for the accent piece for both cards. In the second version, I stayed closer to the instructions. I liked that this challenge was quick and easy.

Shakti thank you for the 2 for 1 challenge! Your Halloween cards are cute with such soulful eyes on the kitty. Your Happy Autumn cards are so elegant and balanced. scrapnnana Agree! The bats would be a bit much as the major paper. Your sassy witch is so cute! The sentiment and colors of your other cards are spot on! I also made four cards out of 2 6x6 pieces of paper. It's more of a 4 for 2 than a 2 for 1 - hey, that works out mathematically, right?

Here are my 5x7 cards with a couple of 6x6 SU! papers. This is actually the front and back of the identical sheets. October cards by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Thanks, Shakti for finding this card video. I used it for an anniversary and birthday card I need this month, but can see using this for lots of different occasions.

I didn't want to make a mini-slim but I do like this sketch so I made a single example in A2 (bottom) and then combined the scraps with another paper scrap and made two more cards (top cards). I was glad for the challenge because it reminded me how simple this sketch is for using a busy paper that has a calm b-side, and the right side panel is helpful for using die cuts that face left (I tend to favor the ones that face right placed on the left side of the card). I also got to use one of my new-to-me round robin dies to create a background on the two extra cards. Thanks for the challenge, sorry I didn't actually do a proper 2fer! I came back into this thread to check out how I did my second set/how I described it and found cards I hadn't commented on -- so sorry! I know I had seen grammadee 's, so I figured I must've seen them and liked them on my iPad while still abed, planning to comment on the computer later. Well, given how that clearly failed the first time around, I laboriously typed a post on the iPad this morning and then hit some incorrect key sequence and vanished it! Humbug -- exactly why I don't try to write commentary except on the computer. So, I rushed over to the computer! Good morning. grammadee , I love the clever way you adapted the sketch to 5x7 and your colorful focal images! joblackford , your cards are super cute (as they usually are) and it seems to me that using ALL the paper and ingeniously getting THREE cards from the sheet is even better than a two-for!
