How can we be at the half-way point of the regular season already? LSU travels to play the Missouri Tigers in a game starting in the morning. LSU doesn't do well in early games so I'm not really confident. It will depend on whether our defense makes the trip. Last week they didn't. Who does your team play? Geaux Tigers! BTW, our player, Greg Brooks, who had the tumor removed from his brain has been diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer, medulloblastoma. They think they got it all but he has a long rehabilitation in front of him.

Purdue travels to Iowa. Maybe we stand a chance? It is on Peacock again which just infuriates me… cadoodlebug just read yesterday about his diagnosis. I’m hoping he will make a full recovery.

I’ll be praying for Greg Brooks. 🙏
My Oklahoma Sooners are playing Texas in the Cotton Bowl at the State Fair of Texas. Both teams are undefeated and the ticket prices are crazy! The stadium is always divided right down the middle, with each team getting 1/2 of the tickets.
My husband and I drove down to Dallas today. My daughter and her husband will fly in from Raleigh tomorrow, and my son will drive in from Oklahoma City tomorrow. Baker Mayfield will be in town too! He’ll be on ESPN’s Game Day which will be broadcasting from the Cotton Bowl.
Can you tell I’m excited?
BOOMER!

Nebraska plays at Illinois on Friday night which would normally be annoying but works out for us since we will be driving to South Dakota. Listening to the game will help pass the time...hopefully... Saturday, we get to watch DS's Mines team play the D2 15th ranked Western CO. They had a great game last week against their top rival so maybe some of that will spill over to this game (especially since the other game we got to watch this year turned out to be a close loss--DS may not let us watch another game in person if they lose!)

CU is at Arizona State this weekend, only watchable on the Pac 12 network. CSU is at Utah State, not sure it’s televised.
We’re going to head up to CSU and visit Dd this weekend with minimal crowds before parents weekend/homecoming next weekend.
Hopefully lots of good games this weekend!

If the Huskers do not win tonight, I may be done for the season. We need to play to win games. We played scared last week. It looked like a scrimmage. I know we are dealing with many significant injuries. It is time for the bench to step up and prove themselves.
Go Big Red!
Go whoever is playing the Buffs this week!
Go Boilermakers!

Michigan State has a bye. Works for me as we're going to be visiting non-fan family. Also works because we're playing quite poorly recently!

After a shaky start, LSU actually beat Missouri 49-39 but the game was much closer than the score. Jayden Daniels got banged up and has bruised ribs but stayed in the game to get us the win. He is arguably the second best QB to come out of LSU. I think there will be some Heisman whispers this week.

It is so hard being a Purdue football fan. All we heard about was how good Card was when he transferred in. He has yet to impress me.
I’m not sure who to root for in the Louisville vs Notre Dame game. If you are in IN you either love ND or hate them. Guess which side I am on? But Louisville now has our former coach and he took most of our good players with him when he left.

I’ve lost track, but I think I’ve probably been to forty OU-Texas games over the years. Yesterday definitely ranks in the top three!

Ole Miss got the win in another exciting game against Arkansas. This was the 2nd week in a row that every seat in the stadium was still filled at the end of the game. No game next week and away at Auburn the next, so maybe I can catch up on some weekend errands and projects.

Crazy ending to the Miami/Ga Tech game! What was the Miami coach thinking when he called for a play with less than a minute to go when taking a knee would seal the win? It's all anyone is talking about on my sport's apps!

Crazy ending to the Miami/Ga Tech game! What was the Miami coach thinking when he called for a play with less than a minute to go when taking a knee would seal the win? It's all anyone is talking about on my sport's apps! I took a nap after the Ohio State game, so was actually up and watching that game until my dh got back from walking the dogs and we’d go up to bed. He came in and we watched the last few minutes together completely stunned! My dh is a Wake Forest alum, so he follows the ACC. That was one of the most blatant examples of a poor coaching decision I have seen. I mean, awful. It will be used as a teaching moment in training rooms around the country as what NOT to do in that situation and to emphasize why the victory formation exists. So, yay!, I guess for Miami’s coach for providing all of college football with a teaching moment. I felt awful for Miami’s players who were shown crying on the sidelines. It must have been, and will continue to be, heartbreaking for them.

That happened years ago in a 49er NFC championship game where all we had to do was take a knee but they continued to run the ball and Roger Craig coughed it up. Our hopes for a Super Bowl win that year were snuffed.

Actually, I just looked it up (retired in 1993), and, for the players (none who were alive at the time), some of their parents were probably in middle or high school. 😂

And Georgia stands as the only undefeated team in the conference. The KY Wildcats came to our house to play and they were shown what it means to be in the DAWG HOUSE!
