Lots of little things have brought me scrapbooking joy lately: -Getting caught up on this year's PL album after apparently setting it aside since March (!!) -Looking through vintage SBs that were my grandparents, including one of my grandpa's baby books, for the first time in a long while. -Having DD pull her SBs off a shelf and sit and go through them with her bf who gushed over them, especially about the journaling (he said he just has picture books with dates, which is also amazing since he's 1 of 7). -Really looking forward to an upcoming 4-day crop! Friends that usually go bailed this time for a different crop and I decided to stick with this one. I love the CM consultant and how she runs them, so I wanted to support her plus I may be more productive!

I've been on a kick in my whole life (& scrap life) to just use what I have and make it work. I've been using a lot of stash and am even getting reacquainted with my old Cricut cartridges (I am tired of fighting with software). I'm really happy with my layouts lately, they've been fun to make and getting the stories recorded that I want. Part of this has been staying off social media, and just doing my own thing, not trying to keep up with the latest or trends, and not buying anything. I've been reworking some organization/storage solutions with things I have too.
Also really happy with how my Travel/Christmas folio is coming out and looking forward on that being my themey project thru the holidays.

I started scrapping in 1999 - the year that my daughter and daughter-in-law were pregnant at the same time. So - 24 years. My husband passed in June of this year. I am so so so glad that I have those books!! Never underestimate the value of this hobby. There it all is - 24 years of memories! Tremendous comfort and joy in those books.

I was surprised how many people told me they enjoyed looking at DH's Air Force scrapbook I made for him that I displayed at his funeral. One of his brothers had no idea of all the things DH had done during his service. My dad has been enjoying showing visitors and his caregivers his fire department scrapbook.

Discovering there are actually crops to attend near me. I was so spoiled in AZ during the height of the scrapbooking industry and attended all kinds of conventions, crops...even CKU. Moving to Florida, there are no scrap stores left except big box chains. I've discovered a three day crop in January about an hour from here on the Crystal River. It is called Crop on the River. DH will go too and swim with manatees and do some fishing on the gulf. The organizers run a travel agency and also do crops on river cruises in Europe. And are doing one on the Nile in 2025.

I scrapped my first found photo yesterday. That definitely brought me joy! It was a photo of the 3 oldest kids (I'm the oldest of 6) sitting on Santa's lap. I used some precious OA Christmas paper.
We always went to Dayton's in downtown Minneapolis to see the Christmas display and visit Santa. So, I printed an old Dayton's logo to add to my layout.

Leone Not sure how far you are from Lutz, but there is a scrapbook store there called Scraporium. They often host classes and crops.

I’m actually creating pages! We are spending this fall in our home in Michigan in a small farming town. There’s not very much to do so I’ve set up a scrapbook area in the front room. I am working on a Mini album about our visit. I love working on pages and using my supplies instead of adding them to piles.
Every couple of weeks my husband and I sit down and look over the book. This is why I scrapbook!

I love a good wilderness photo opportunity. I live in Colorado and find them all over, and recently I upgraded my Canon and lens (600mm). I gave my old Canon/lenses to my DIL, and now my son is researching his future camera purchase. My son has watched dozens of YT videos and has been reading books about wildlife photography. I LOVE that he is just as much into it as I am. I also love that he will call and ask if we can take a day trip to different mountain tops in the state. Here are a few of the pictures we've taken with my new camera and lenses. They are from Mt. Evans and Rocky Mountain National Park. We watched the moose for 45 minutes that morning. Yawning Coyote by Nancy Tim, on Flickr oat by Nancy Tim, on Flickr Nanny Goat by Nancy Tim, on Flickr Moose Lake by Nancy Tim, on Flickr Elk blocking traffic by Nancy Tim, on Flickr Marmot Rock by Nancy Tim, on Flickr One of my favorite memories is when I was in college taking some mammalogy and animal physiology classes at UCCS, and choosing to do a project about marmots. It was a class/lab project that basically was my Friday. That semester, my son was a toddler, and instead of taking him to daycare on those Fridays, I would pack him up, and we’d go to the top of Mt Evans and do field research on marmots. I no longer live in CO, but have strong ties and visit several times a year. I love to take people up Mt Evans, and it’s a special place for my kids and I. Thank you for sharing your photos- they are incredible!

Yesterday, my son and I biked up Waterton Canyon in Littleton and watched five male RM sheep have a go at butting heads on a very thin ledge. I think we got some good pictures. Need to blow them up to make sure. I personally love the marmots. With my love of corgis, I think I have a "type." Short, super furry. and poops a lot.

I used to love hunting elk and mulies in Gore Pass. Also a very special place for me, I’m familiar with Evergreen, it is lovely!! I hope you make it out there! My daughter has shared some photos of a herd of elk that’s been hanging around Lyons. “FuzzyMutt” herself, is part corgi, according to her dna test. We call her a short stack because she is also shepherd and husky… so she’s a pretty decent size, but on short legs, with a super fluffy corgi butt, and a glorious tail. I totally get being drawn to the short, super furry types!

I’m not so sure I should have done this. I guess time will tell. But I cleaned a few of my stamp sets that wouldn’t stick anymore with that spray dishwashing stuff and they stick like brand now! I’m so darned happy with my stamps now that I have been struggling with for awhile. I have used them and they stamp the same so I don’t think I did any damage to them. The stickingness is like night & day.
( I don’t mean the cheap Michael’s ones I don’t think anything will help those )

My 21st wedding anniversary was this past Thursday. DH developed some disposable cameras left over from our wedding (!) that we had never developed as my gift. He waited to look at them with me when I opened my gift. We found a treasure trove of pictures from early in our marriage (we thought they'd be of our wedding; we finally figured out these cameras weren't full from the wedding, and so we had kept them and used them up over time). There were pictures from three different friends' weddings, work events, volunteer projects, and the last was my first belly shot with my first child. I can't wait to scrap those pictures! That's just so amazing. Seriously, goosebumps.
Here are a few of the pictures we've taken with my new camera and lenses Love your photos! Great shots!

I haven't scrapped in a couple years, but my intentions are still to do so, someday.
What has brought me joy in scrapping, even without actually scrapping, is my kids still bringing me things to scrap. A school award, a note, a drawing.
Someday I'll be able to get back to it.

Working on my son's senior year album as things happen has been a ton of fun. I did not do this for my daughter, so it has been a new way to experience his senior year. He is really enjoying the fact that I am doing it which makes it even more JOYFUL to work on.
I also just organized all of my New December Daily stuff that I have gotten. Still waiting on Heidi Swapp order, but once I get that, I will also bring down a second bin of older DD (no judgement pls!) and really get things prepped. I am doing the DD Product Play class that starts Nov 1, and I have so enjoyed doing that and following along with Ali E's Foundation pages the past 2-3 years. The products, the organizing, the "getting new things" and being creative all related to a holiday I hold dear just brings me a TON of JOY and I am so thankful. It really helps me stay in JOY vs get too caught up in the obligations and expectations of the holidays which can really hold me hostage if I am not careful.
Really enjoying this thread!

I did a thing this summer and got rid of all my SU! Ink pads...they didn't stamp clean and came out blotchy and the color was always darker than I expected even after letting them dry. So I rarely used my stamps. I replaced them all with a full set of Gina K mini cubes and I can't get over how fantastic those inks stamp! Joy was definitely found in creating ink swatches but even better was the fact I finished a layout last night that had all kinds of stamping on it and was able to use 3 different stamp sets! I'm even tempted to stamp out a whole year worth of PL cards instead of getting a kit every month. Gina K's inks have brought joy back into some of my scrapping. 😊

Like Elsabelle , my constant "joy" in scrapbooking is reminiscing about the subject/event/etc. when creating a layout. This is true for me as well. This time it’s a vacation DH and I took circa 2002, we had so much fun looking through the photos and reminiscing together! I also typically find joy in organizing, and/or tweaking my current supplies. Anything to streamline the process, because I’m weird like that

dewryce I had to chuckle at your statement about streamlining the process because I was thinking the other day about using my Cricut to make some templates for pages - like, just have it cut out 3 lines of 3 squares each, perfectly arranged, and then I could reuse the template and just trace it onto whatever page I happened to be making where I want that design. However, I am considering just using the scoring stylus and having it score where I was going to have the design, then I don't have to worry about shaky hands when I'm tracing. I also like to use Excel and Publisher to play around with ideas. You're so not alone in your weirdness!

I've been working on our Make-A-Wish trip to NYC. I'm making three books all basically the same. I do add extra pics or journalling if it's a place that meant more to one or the other of us (like the 9/11 memorial has extra pics in our book since we (Dh & I) remember it and neither of the girls really do). It's been fun reminiscing as I do the layouts, and I'm so happy to finally get them done!!
I am HOPING to have them done to give the girls as Christmas gifts!

I saw an almost new crank style die cutting machine at Goodwill for $25 and it was green tag day so I got it for $8.
It's not about making something answer, so I hope it's ok, but it made me so happy.

Someday I'll be able to get back to it. I completely understand! I know it sounds awful, but I'm kind of tired of scrapping my family. Probably because I have two adult children and a special needs child who isn't able to do much. I did buy a Simple Stories Year in the Life kit and it brought me joy! I can throw in the photos from 2022 in divided page protectors. I have paper, stamps, and washi that all coordinate for simple pages where I don't have to think. I have PLENTY of other paper if one month has more photos that usual that I can substitute with the line.

This is scrapbook related with long term goals in mind. We purchased a scanner mainly for documents. I will eventually start scanning 8.5x11 pages. Very slowly, I'm working on getting rid of clutter. Eventually, I hope to have a craft/scrap room to myself.
