Today I want you to use your vellum as the background. You can ink blend it, make a design with alcohol markers or inks, use it to cover a very busy patterned paper. Its your choice just have fun. For the twist I would like you to use your stylus and a foam piece/score board to deboss your vellum. You can just add lines or deboss some design. Here is my sample card, no sentiment yet. I used some of my ink cubes to lay down some colors on my surface and spritzed it with water than I used my vellum to pick up the color. Did this multiple times, let the ink dry before you move on to the next color. I heat embossed a design to the vellum and used my stylus to deboss the berries. Have fun getting inky or not! The inking is a wonderful effect, azcrafty, and the debossing looks great, too.

azcrafty Thank you for the vellum background challenge. Your sample is so pretty! Especially the background. I forgot to deboss. Oops. If I get time I'll try again.

You might not be able to tell but over the past few days I used brown vellum (combining both of our challenges ) on the backgrounds of these cards. I didn't so anything fancy with it but I used up about half of a sheet that I thought I would never find a way to use (it had 3 wide stripes in different shades of brown). I don't know how well it fits into this week's challenge but just wanted to share since you inspired me to pull it out! Oct share - fall leaves by jo.blackford, on Flickr

I used my vellum to cover a patterned paper, to give it a softer look. I didn’t even try to deboss, since my vellum is so brittle. Instead, I added white accents. I’m not doing points, so I figured that I can adapt as needed.

Vellum is the background here, azcrafty, but I don't think I earned the twist b/c this vellum is embossed with a folder rather than a stylus. CARDtober #15 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Beautiful card grammadee, I especially love your greenery cluster and how you kept the background simple so they could shine.
