Seems most people don’t have a sense of humor these days. Or maybe people just find different things funny.

You need a good kick in the ass and wack upside your head. The peas will be happy to help with that. Hahaha...yeah, definitely having 2006 flashbacks now. WOW I've never seen Joe show up here and not be completely fanned upon and made much of. This is an interesting turn. I agree, this probably is no longer your audience. But I thought everyone was a little harsh--I get it, you're joking. But I think a forum of divorced dads might be a stronger crowd for this humor. They have a playlist on Spotify. Check it out. Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out. That said, everyone on this forum isn't the same. I have friends here I've "known" for seventeen years. Some I've met in real life. While I get that my stuff isn't everyone's cup of tea, I know that a lot of people here enjoy it. I guess I'm in the minority. I was aware of you doing stand up comedy. I read it as you admitting you've screwed up at doing the domestic things or how you want to label it and you have a long way to go.
It didn't bother me. Thanks. This board is the only place I got any negative feedback. Also not funny. Hope you have a day job. Mortgage broker. So, no. I’ll join you in the minority, it didn’t bother me either. Thanks for the support, but I didn't write it simply to "not be bothersome". It didn’t bother me. Seems most people don’t have a sense of humor these days. Thank you, but I won't go that far. Sometimes material doesn't work for a certain crowd. It doesn't mean they're wrong; it's just not their thing. I had a three day run at a comedy club in Naples like ten years ago. I did the exact same material all three days. The first day, I totally bombed. No response from the audience. The second day, much better. The third day, I murdered it. One of my best shows ever. I was probably more polished by the third day, but the big difference was the crowd. I was the feature, and both the host and the headliner had the exact same experiences. So last night my wife called me from her hotel room, and I asked her about my latest Substack. She said she loved it. In the end, that is the only audience that really matters to me.

Ok? Kind of ungrateful for the support that was shown.
Save it for the wife I guess. I hope you got some subs out of this for your trouble.
Maybe the former harem of fawners has moved on to another forum.

That you didn’t really learn anything from the overwhelming response you received that this kind of comedy is, at best, outdated is so sad. When sometime in the future your daughters get really angry with your outlook on gender and emotional labor disparities, I hope this response sticks in your mind and maybe you can learn from it then.

Maybe the former harem of fawners has moved on to another forum. To be clear, I was sincerely appreciative. I called my sister tonight and asked her opinion. She had not read it, so I had to describe what it was about. She took this thread's side. Well, no, let's say she understood the blowback. She started talking about "walk away wife's" and the current trend of both spouses working but the wife having an unequal share of the chores. She said that while my piece was probably funny, it was probably also triggering for a lot of these wives. I wasn't kidding or placating when I said I appreciate the feedback. I NEED this. I can't promise it'll change my writing style, but anytime my eyes are opened, I evolve. I don't know why people keep mentioning "fawners". That was 2006. I'm fat and married now.

I can’t believe anyone still finds this type of “humor” funny. I made it a couple paragraphs in and quit. And I’m probably older than Joe. Yet I still know better.

Didn't expect to find these comments. Didn't bother me any. I see the humor. Whatever. You still owe me $200.
