"Fall rainbow" is what I have in mind, although that's just a starting point for you to interpret however you like I was thinking of it in terms of picking a palette from across the ROYGBIV spectrum that have fall tones and an autumnal feeling. Some oranges, yellows and reds, of course, but trying adding at least a little of the purple-blue-green too. The card can be a fall themed card, but it doesn't have to be! This was my first fall rainbow, using a paper that had a rainbow of leaves. Very literal. I combined bits of the 12x12 paper to try and get a sampling of all of the colors on each card. Maybe you have something similar to use, or you'd rather stencil or stamp your own paper. SLoC September by jo.blackford, on Flickr SLoC September by jo.blackford, on Flickr Here's a card I just made yesterday that I also think works as a fall rainbow palette - purple, aqua blue, yellow, orange, red. Don't feel like you have to actually have a true rainbow of colors or arrange them in rainbow order, unless you want to. Fall rainbow by jo.blackford, on Flickr I also spotted this fall rainbow project - not a card, but the colors! a lovely fall rainbow - posted by a Pea ecvnj58 http://instagram.com/p/Cygw_5luu_o Thanks for playing along. And remember this is just a starting point Pls add this to the list grammadee

Your cards are lovely, joblackford ! I used cut apart cards and basically cut them to pieces, with a little mix and match.

What a fun idea scrapnnana ! I like your fall rainbow colors and it’s always good to be reminded that we can cut up “finished” things to use the elements for our own purposes. Thanks for playing along!

My challenge card for next week meets this challenge, so I'll probably link it here then.

Gorgeous cards, joblackford . And fun challenge. Not sure how to list the challenge and the "twist" in the link. Please let me know if what I am putting in the CARDtober stickied thread works.
I think MDscrapaholic created some beautiful fall cards this month with leaves in these colours, too. Fall always has me itching to blend inks. Just need to find a good leaf stencil. Cool take on the sketch scrapnnana .

scrapnnana , so clever and subtle to put the colors in the top part of the letters. joblackford thank you for the rainbow fall challenge. One fall the environmental educator gave out paint chip sample cards and said "go find" - some of the chips were weird, like bright purple, slate grey - almost every kid found a match! Nature's variety continues to amaze me. I actually collected some real leaves and was kicking around the idea of photographing them in their rainbow glory, but for now I will submit my fall rainbow card made with dies. My dies look similar to yours except my set doesn't have oak leaves. I needed a birthday card, so here we are.

Your paper leaves are beautiful, such a lovely rainbow, and I love that you brought in the purple (or maybe blue?) in the matting. Thanks for taking on the challenge.

I used 49 and Market Plum Grove. It’s pretty much the definition of fall rainbow.

Here is my autumn rainbow using a Paper Rose stencil, TH inks, and AC diecuts. The stencil and diecuts were included in the latest [Not] Just for Boys kit. CARDtober #18 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr
