Me! Me! I’m so excited. I’ve done zero prep as I’ve been getting ready for my month away from work. So many lesson plans! I traveling this weekend too, but will spend Monday doing some of the prep after I finish my pre surgery appointment. I’m hoping I’ll get some good pictures of my niece and nephews this weekend to use. I’m out for recovery during this event and the holiday one. Bring on the fun!

I’m in too! I splurged this year and signed up for all 5 events! I won’t be doing that again, as much as I’d like to. 😄 I’ve still got a bunch of things to complete, but I figure it will keep me busy during our slow, cold winter.
Since I’ve just recently returned to making layouts, I’m working on being very prepared with pics and prep so that I can make the most of my time next weekend. I’ve got pics chosen for almost all the layouts and about 75% printed and ready to go. That doesn’t include pics for Jana’s album. That will be pictureless for a while!
Homework prep is in process. Working my way through Jana’s video now. Virginia’s is done.

How was your scrappy weekend? Such a fun event!
I didn't have time for all the classes but managed 7 layouts. I'm hoping to finish several more this week before holiday crafting starts.

Are y’all allowed to post your layouts now that the event is over? If so we’d love to see them! I’m considering doing the next one but want to get an idea if they layouts are my style.

Would love to see what you created, lindamh and lilacgal and any others who participated. Either here or in the Q-4 sharing thread

Thanks for sharing marie! I especially love the last 2 page layout, lots of photos (which are perfect for that style and paper) but still has some breathing room. Did you have your photos picked before the class started? I ask because I still have some blank layouts from classes 20 years ago

I’ll be honest and say I’ve not done much creating yet. (Feel free to skip to the next paragraph. I feel like I’m whining here) I finally had brain surgery on 10/31 and having been having some recovery problems. A rash from the surgical prep first and then I ended up in the ER Saturday night with nausea, confusion, and a terrible headache like I had before the surgery. I’ve been managing the surgical pain pretty well, but saturdays headache was too much. I’m back home with more meds to cope and an appointment to see if the shunt needs adjusting hopefully on Thursday. I spoke to the NP who reassured me I wasn’t bothering him and the confusion is normal because I just had brain surgery. Just sitting at my desk has taken a lot more effort than I anticipated. I can make it 30-45 minutes before I get overwhelmed by everything going on. I managed to do the Doodlebug Shadowbox (love this and want to do a Christmas one) and a bonus layout using the cover sheet example in two sessions. I got Nathalie De Sousa‘s layout done this morning. I started the second layout but kept getting confused so I stopped. She added in a bonus third layout with the kit leftovers. Nathalie’s class is a mini class to boot! I’m having fun, but managing my overwhelm has been the most difficult part. I hope I’ll feel more like myself for the holiday class in a couple weeks.

lilacgal I’m so I’m pressed that you’re crafting this soon after any surgery, much less brain surgery. Give yourself some grace for your overwhelm and confusion, you’re doing great! Thanks for sharing your layouts, I especially love the first one. Is that the shadow box? Glad your surgery went well and hope you’re feeling more yourself soon.

lilacgal , I'm impressed too! Please take it easy for a while. Those two layouts are stunning and I would like to scraplift them! I'm hoping you heal quickly and that the pain goes away so you can play. marie , I love your's too and will definitely scraplift the first one! It reminds me of a pinwheel, and would be great for a kid's page. I need to start looking through my photos for one to match that.

I did and I had a lot of fun. Nothing is finished yet though. I’m pretty slow and I also didn’t have photos ready for most of the classes.
What do you think? Lots of fall papers! Maybe not good for some people without a strong fall season.
I wasn’t a fan of the Crop Companion (?) layout class. That teacher has such a pretty style and I didn’t think her layout looked anything like her other things I’ve seen her post online.
I’m also not a big pocket page scrapbooker and wished Megan’s and Jess’s class were full layouts. But that’s ok and easier to change if I end up not wanting to use the pockets.
I loved Becky’s class. She made so many pretty layouts.
I don’t do mini albums usually. Jana made a very nice one with her products though. I’m undecided if I make it because I don’t think I have enough photos to fill it.
Victoria’s class was fun. I liked her layouts and I have the perfect photos for them both.
I have photos from this weekend to use on Virginia’s pages too. I do love when that works out. Although we have made a lot of “crafting” themed layouts in these events over the years too.
I know I’m missing some!
I started a new thread with the announcement of them going to one event a year for each category (scrapbook, cards, holiday) if you’re interested in the next one, read that!

Yes, the photo is at an odd angle because I wanted to include the shadowbox and bonus layout. I thought it was great that they 1) figured out a layout using the shadow box for those participants who just wanted a layout and wouldn’t use a shadow box and then included those few extra supplies and 2) figured out a way for people (like me) who wanted the actual shadowbox and also wanted to do the layout. Thank you, dewryce and MDscrapaholic for your kind words. I had gallbladder surgery in July and the recovery from that was a breeze compared to this! I’m hoping to pop into my scrap room in a bit to get at least one more of Nathalie’s layouts done.

Did you have your photos picked before the class started? I ask because I still have some blank layouts from classes 20 years ago Thanks! That class was all about lots of photos on a page. She actually had 12 for the double pager. I do pick all my photos out in advance so I can be sure I finish the layout and in case my sizes are different. This way I will cut a different size photo mat than what the instructions call for.

He has hydrocephalus. Love your layouts, especially the doodle bug one. I still need to do that one.

I agree with you on the crafters companion class. I plan to change that layout a bit. I liked her mini class with stamping flowers. I plan to use the flowers on a layout of my niece's prom. I always enjoy Victoria's classes. And I'm taking her pattern paper class through SCT and it's been great. Becki, Meghann, and Virginia all had classes I enjoyed. I do project life on a monthly basis so will add in the pocket pages from Jess and Meghann there. For Jana's mini book, I printed out photos of all types of fall photos of my boys when they are little. Natalie is new to me. I liked the layouts though the kit isn't quite my style. Allison's class was also fun. I like her sketches and have taken her 6 x 6 paper pad class before. All in all, I really enjoyed the weekend. SCT does a great job with their events I think.

Finally got Nathalie’s second layout done after four tries. I changed it up since the Moonlight Magic phrase Thickers didn’t really go along with the baptism of my godson from last week. I am over the moon happy with the layout though. I didn’t think the red in the photo would work, but I included the red floral at the bottom instead of an admit one ticket she had (again, not really for a baptism) and the rainbow of butterfly colors makes it work in my head. I’m pleased to not only have a layout done but one with a photo! Woohoo!

Wow, lilacgal . Please take care of yourself and allow yourself time to heal. (((((HUGS))))) That baptism page is gorgeous! Don't put too much pressure on yourself to create, unless you treating paper crafting as healing strategy?
marie, your fall LO's are really pretty. Love that pinwheel design and can see how it would work with 6x6 pp for any season. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much! 🥰 I am using it as a way to get myself out of bed. I’m taking a pain med, muscle relaxer, and antihistamine (apparently I’m allergic to surgical prep? 🤷🏻♀️) so I’m rather tired. It took me four tries to get that layout done. I’m learning quickly that when my body says, “nope,” or my brain says, “this doesn’t make sense anymore,” to just go lay down and take a nap. Napping and crafting…and no one expects any housework done… if it wasn’t for the seventeen staples on my head, I could easily get used to this! 😂

instead of an admit one ticket she had (again, not really for a baptism) This made me laugh - an Admit One ticket on a Baptism layout seems kind of appropriate! I can't believe you had surgery less than one week ago and even attempted to scrapbook this weekend lilacgal. I hope you have a good recovery. I was on the waitlist for this event and just got the email last Sunday that I was in - got my box on Tuesday. I was so pleased but definitely rushed to get prepared. I ended up making 6 layouts, I think. On Sunday I couldn't participate at all due to family stuff going on.I'll probably finish up in January and February because I have the holiday event this weekend and then lots of Christmas projects planned.
