I'm posting early to wrap things up - this is the final challenge of CARDtober 2023! Your challenge is to make a birthday card. Your twist is to use one element that is free to you - given to you, repurposed from magazine or junk mail, anything like that. I made a card for one of the 2nd graders I work with. All the elements except the cardstock were given to me by a downsizing friend. Thank you grammadee for organizing CARDtober.  |

THANK YOU for all your fun challenges and for doing so many of our challenges jjpeapea! I am hoping to sit down and try some more in the next day or two. I love using free stuff and I don't have many birthday cards in my stash so this should be a good one. I'm sure the 2nd grader birthday kid loved your colorful card. |

Fun card, jjpeapea , and thanks for an easy challenge. I needed a birthday card for a special little girl, so the timing of this challenge is perfect. She loves cats, but can’t have one due to family allergies, so she and her brother have pet rats. Her birthday was a week or so ago, but we were out of town. The “Oh, RATS!!!” is an intentional play on words and is the first part of the birthday greeting, which is continued inside with, “We missed your birthday! (But we hope it was a great one!)” There is another rat die cut inside.  |

Shakti I loved both your cards. Your swan and the story you told are a beautiful moment captured. Your birthday card is so lovely - so peaceful, serene and a reflection of beautiful nature. Your DH should feel special. Thanks for doing the challenge.

Thanks, jjpeapea. He's a hiker/camper/backpacker, so it seemed fitting. And my mom shares my love of birds, so she'll get the swan. |
