Good morning! My favorite Halloween is over! Boo! Hiss! But it's on to November.
I am just unsure of where to go in my crafting journey. I want to pull out the camper quilt and get started. I have a plan and am ready to go. However, Jeremy told the counter installer to put off the job until spring. He decided it was too cold already to make progress on the camper. So I could put that off until January. He has winterized the camper so I'm not thinking it is even coming out for me to measure curtains and such until March.
I also want to crochet a blanket for the camper. I like to sleep with a granny so I want to make a granny. I usually have a blanket going at all times so maybe I'll order some yarn for it.
I did start the cross stitch. That's been fun. But threading that needle is not. I feel like I can't see so small. Need a magnifier but too stubborn to accept I'm old. 😂
I also have fabric and a plan and I keep wondering if I can whip out a quilt for my mom before Christmas. I just need some contrasting fabric. But I think I may be able to do it.
I am also going to type up the rest of my journaling today for my October Daily album. I kept up with it all month thinking this might be fun. So I have much scrapbooking to do.
This is your resident bipolar crafter saying Happy November! Hope all of you are more decisive than me!

You sound quite upbeat and that's nice to see.
I like crocheting over winter, you get lovely and warm while you are working. My crochet project is a fair isle style mosaic crochet blanket using up odds and ends. I'm about half way through.
My quilt top is finished and I have basted it ready for quilting. I have tried the floor method when basting previously and my knees and back hated me so this time I tried the pool noodle/ table method as the quilt is 72 inches square. I'm never going back to the floor method, the noodle method was so much better. I know sending it out to be basted and quilted is an option but it's very expensive here plus I want the experience of doing it myself regardless of the cursing!

You sound quite upbeat and that's nice to see. Esther's birthday was Monday and I was quite lost in my feelings. It was a hard day. Lots of mourning. However, I slept alright that night and woke up yesterday feeling like I could take on my day. So that was much better than last year, when I was a mess for a good three days. Grief is weird like that. It's just as intense in some moments as it is when a death first happened, but it doesn't quite stay around as long as time goes on, and I suppose that is a protective thing our hearts and minds do to ensure that we can move on and continue with our own lives in the best way possible. so this time I tried the pool noodle/ table method as the quilt is 72 inches square. I'm never going back to the floor method, the noodle method was so much better. I need to look this up. I'm so curious as I've never heard of this before. Any chance you have link to a youtube video or tutorial?

November! Where has the year gone??? Today is a holiday in Bavaria, so after cleaning up the Halloween decorations and going for a long walk (not just for exercise - a parcel containing new knitting needles was waiting for me at the Packstation, so I incorporated a walk into picking it up), I am now going to settle down to some knitting. I am going to do a bit of swatching this morning, to try the new needles, then I might start on a new sweater for me. I have 4 possibilities that I have yarn bought for and a pattern selected - I just need to decide which I want to start first. jeremysgirl - I am glad you have found some peace in your grief. And I totally understand choosing from so many projects, even if mine are all the same craft, I still have crafting ADD at times.

Yes, I understand this wholeheartedly. I am going to do a bit of swatching this morning, to try the new needles, then I might start on a new sweater for me. I have 4 possibilities that I have yarn bought for and a pattern selected - I just need to decide which I want to start first. If you'd like to share the pattern, just a pic, that would be awesome. And then I'd love to see what yarn you've decided on.

jeremysgirl hugs to you, birthdays and anniversaries are particularly hard. Re pool noodle basting this is the link I used, I had already pinned three quarters of my quilt when I saw this method. As I wasn't happy with the pins I unpinned everything and tried this, I glue sprayed and pinned and was finished so quickly, I was really pleased. m.youtube.com/watch?v=i6M-I20Tirw&pp=ygUSUG9vbCBub29kbGVzIGJhc3Rl

Good morning November crafters! I can't believe I'm writing that, I don't think October existed in my world; I'm pretty sure I didn't achieve much, craft wise, even though I have a number of WIPs. I needed time to just sit. I did start going through some older craft stuff. I found a couple of cross-stitches that I'd forgotten about, one started and one not. I still like the designs, they are very simple and quite child like, but I don't think I'm likely to make them now. I don't think I'd want them on display and it seems a bit daft to make them just to store them - but I do that with my blankets and enjoy them being here! I'm still toying with keeping them or putting them to a local care centre for anyone to do. The grandkids enjoy cross stitch but they would lose interest in them at the moment. They happily make small things but these are too big for them. I also found the front of a cushion cover that I started just to prove to myself that I could do it, not long after I learnt to crochet. I'm not sure what to do with that, either, as although I still like the design, I have no where a purple and cream cushion would go! jeremysgirl it sounds like you have some great plans. I'm glad you were sleeping easier on Monday. You are right, grief is weird, it comes in waves and some are easier to ride than others.

It's November and we all know what that means....International Quilt Festival! A teaser for what is to come in my annual thread later this week! Grabbed this shot yesterday when I was at a class. It opens officially at 5 pm tonight. I did start the cross stitch. That's been fun. But threading that needle is not. I feel like I can't see so small. Need a magnifier but too stubborn to accept I'm old. 😂 Give in and buy one of these. Your eyes and your frustration level will thank you! My class yesterday was a collage class taught by Laura Heine, who is a wonderful instructor. It wasn't as complicated as I had made it out to be in my mind so I am thankful for that. Still need to finish it up but it will make a cute wallhanging. This class was for the Teeny Tiny Seahorse. Currently auditioning fabric placement for the background but the seahorse is complete. Was a lot of fun to put together.

That seahorse is super cool **GypsyGirl**! Is that quilt festival have anything to do with the show that was going on last week that all the designers were posting pics of on Instagram? Are they two separate things?

**GypsyGirl** , your seahorse is fantastic! I adore that mermaid fabric! I have another quilt to share but I have to sew the binding on first.

**GypsyGirl**, yippee its Quilt Show time! I am so appreciative that you share this with us every year. If you are looking for fabric opinions, I really like the blue watery swatch in the upper right corner under the flower swatch. Second choice, the batik under his belly. I finished my great nephews name banner, and have everything sorted to start on the one for my great niece coming in Jan. My niece used the banner I made for her first daughter as the launch for decorating her room. She has the same plan for the other two. I also made a paper layering picture for my mom of a cardinal in a tree. She loves it. This month I plan to try my crocheting again. I'm positive this time will go better because I have a Welsh Cake count marker to keep me in line. Thanks JoP 😘

Need a magnifier but too stubborn to accept I'm old. 😂 I started to use a needle threader - so much easier than the cross-eyed attempts to find the hole in the needle. I use these ones from Singer but there are lots out there. I finished piecing the quilt I posted about some time ago, the one with all the pieces and colours, but am still deciding on how to quilt this beast. I have a mid arm quilter which only has a 9" throat and this quilt is 90x75 so it will be way too much work to do it here - I am debating between sending it out or renting the longarm at one of the local shops. I am in no rush - I have lots of projects I want to do before Christmas so it will be in the new year.

You guys aren't going to believe this...
I messaged the mama of the baby coming that my gift was on the way and should arrive by Saturday. And...she had the baby nearly two weeks ago. They just haven't announced. 😂

I will need to check if I have the right size needles This is ready to go - it is knit with both yarns together. I need to wind the yarn for this one, but just love the yarn This one I think I also want to do with the main yarn held with a strand of mohair, which I will need to buy - probably order online. I made a small version of this for Sophia and it came out beautifully.

I just last night finished the binding on a quilt I started in 2009. It sat in a bin for years and now it's done! I can't remember how to post pictures......
My sister, a friend from jr. high (almost 50 years ago) and her sister, have a little quilting group and we get together twice a year to craft. Once in Canmore and once at one of our homes. Canmore is always 5 nights. One more week until we go! We have all signed up for a class for a quilted wall hanging, and otherwise will get lots of quilting, crocheting and/or knitting done.
I'm going to be doing the Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt this year, and that starts on Nov 24.

I can't remember how to post pictures...... I upload my photos to postimages.com and then just copy the direct link and post it here using the image button. That is how it works for laptop - no idea for mobile devices. I do hope you figure out a way to share your quilt.

**GypsyGirl** Your seahorse is gorgeous!! I don't think I did a single thing on any of my other crafts in October. Temperatures are finally starting to cool down here in southern California, so I'll likely pull out some of my crocheting and/or knitting soon to work on those over the next few months before it starts getting hot again. I also have a few cross stitch projects going that could really use some love. I just need to decide which one(s) I want to pull out and work on. Finding time to squeeze other crafts in during November might be difficult for me though as a friend and I have embarked on a challenge together to make a card every day this month. Even with that, I would like to try and squeeze in at least an hour or two each week to work on some of my other craft projects, too. I've also got a book binding project I would like to get back to at some point. I have the signatures pressed and ready to go, so now I just need to decide on my covers and then stitch everything together.
