Help! I absolutely love the first card she makes in this video, but can't seem to find a tutorial or instruction sheet anywhere for the first one: a "double column" card that seems to fold down to a 5x7 size. I am off to a crop to make Christmas cards and would LOVE to give this one a try!

THIS CARD looks similar, although you’d need to have flat decorations in the middle, rather than bulky flowers, especially if you want to mail it. There are instructions to make it if you scroll down far enough. You might want or need to adapt the measurements if you want a square pillar.

Figured it out for a 5x7 card. Here it is closed:  And here it is open  i started with two pieces of white cs, each 5x 11”. I scored from one end of the first at 1/2”, 2”, 4”, and 5 1/2”. Repeat with second piece. Fold & burnish. All folds are mountain folds. Then I cut one piece of cs 5”x6 3/4”. Then attached the long panel of one folded piece to the back of this piece. Repeat with second folded piece to the other end of this rectangle. Open up one of the folded panels. Fold IN from the second fold. Put glue on the 1/2” segment, then close the panel like one half of a gatefold card. Press to attach glue. Repeat with second folded panel. Now decorate. You will need four pieces of pp 1 3/4” x 4 3/4”; two pieces 1 1/4” x 4 3/4”; and one piece 2 3/4” x 4 3/4”. Cot a double layer focal panel and decorate however you choose. Attach it to the left side only of the gatefold opening. |
