For those who don’t know who she is, she designs very fun pop up cards, some which are rather unique and/or elaborate. She’s a civil engineer, so her designs are definitely more elaborate than the typical pop ups that you see in the Silhouette store, but not usually as much as the intricate and detailed LovePop cards you can buy. I met her at a scrapbook convention one year, and was very impressed with her creative designs (and bought a bunch of her dies). I have no affiliation with her other than as a customer. Does anyone besides me like cards that are dimensional, slide, move, etc.? Have you made any? Here is a link to her YouTube channel: Karen Burniston YouTube Channel

I love Karen’s cards, scrapnnana, and own a bunch of her dies. I don’t use them as often as I could, but when I do, her tutorials are always easy to follow. but your link leads to an Etsy site—or I pressed the ad below it by mistake. Here is a link to Her channel

There is a small scrapbook store in Conroe, TX that carries all things Karen Burniston. www.scrappnsavvy.com/index.htmThe owner is BFF's with Karen and she is the nicest gal. She has class kits each month that feature the products that are just about to be released. She mails them out in advance and does classes over zoom or something similar. If you love KB, I would suggest signing up.

I am glad to know that I am not alone in my love for her dies! grammadee, when I click the link, it goes to her YouTube channel list, but if anyone else gets the same result as you, I hope they will post, and I will try again, and maybe just post the link to her online store instead. peasquared, I recently came back from a trip to Houston. I will keep that shop in mind the next time I go that way. I think that KB lives in or near Houston, from comments she has made, so it makes sense that if there is any LSS near her, they would carry her dies. Sadly, I live quite a ways away, but thank you for letting me know. kkrenn, I hope when you finish, you will post a photo of your Christmas tree card, perhaps in this thread. In fact, I was wondering if there is enough interest, we could post pictures of projects made with her dies. I need encouragement to make more cards with her pop ups. I’ve made a few cards with them, but I haven’t used most of the KB dies I bought. Anyone interested in making this a thread for posting photos of our Karen Burniston cards?

My local scrapbook store has lots of her dies and I know they have had her out several times to teach classes.

I go through phases where I buy one of her dies, make half a dozen cards with it, and then forget I own it for a while. My favourite all time one is the photo collage pop up. I actually won a free die from her blog once: the twist panel. My most recent purchase was the House of Cards. I saw an amazing card made with Uno cards and knew I needed to make a card like that for my sister. I don't make too many of her cards right now, but I'd love to see what the rest of you are making.

I’m still debating on the House of Cards set. The cards made with that set look amazing, but they also look like they will take a lot of time to make. Someone used it with the castle pop up to make a castle version, and I am very tempted, but I just don’t know if I would use it more than once if it’s really time consuming. I’d love to know what you think of that set after you’ve had a chance to make a card with it.

I own at least a dozen of her interactive die sets. She does such an excellent job in the design and her videos really help in assembly in a way that the cards stay together!

scrapnnana I didn’t find it too hard to assemble. I just rewatched her video. Die cutting all the pieces was a bit tedious because I used Uno cards and could only cut two at a time instead of four. I also didn’t make too large a card or pop up. The triangles on the inside were a mistake because they were a bit of a catch point.

Thanks for posting that, justjac! It’s a fun card, and I hope the recipient appreciates all the work that went into it.

Most of you have probably gotten an email this morning from Karen Burniston with a link to their sale, but in case there are any here who are interested in seeing what’s for sale but haven’t gotten the email about this, she is having an inventory reduction sale. I got a few things that were in my wish list.

I just got my order. They shipped it fast. I ordered 4 days ago, on Friday. They packed it same day, turned it over to the Topeka, Kansas post office the next day (Saturday), it arrived at the large distribution center on Christmas day, and made it’s way through more than one distribution center to get to my post office early this morning, and I got it in today’s mail.
Kudos to both KB Riley and the postal service on the quick shipping and delivery!
