I have some grocery shopping to do and errands to run, but thought I had time to cut a bunch of pieces for some gnome and snowman cards, using a mix of Taylored Expressions and Jaded Blossom dies.
In the middle of that exercise, as I was removing the top plate after cutting, one die popped off the mat and flipped *somewhere*. I spent at least an hour looking for it. Of course it is one of my FAVOURITE pieces of that die set... And of course my scraproom makes a perfect escape room for an errant element. I had an open go bag between me and my Vagabond, a tub of pp collections nearby, a wheelie cart it could roll under, and Cricut mats stuffed upright between the cart and the bookcase.
Walked away, giving up the search, deciding to just get dressed and get on with my life, and suddenly, there it was! Sneaky thing was leaning upright against the wheel of my cart. Whew!
So as I get on with my trip to town to do mundane things, feel free to tell me what YOU have done to get your heart going this morning?

LOL - I know exactly how you feel grammadee , I've "lost" so many dies it's not funny! Luckily I've found them all, but only after searching high and low! It's AMAZING how much hair my dog sheds that I don't see until I have to get down on the floor... I have a new Ring camera outside and the squirrels in the tree next door are having a field day. Dang notifications keep going off - that's what woke me this morning at 5:30 AM. I woke out of a sound sleep and my heart was racing thinking someone was in the back yard. NOT FUNNY.

Thank goodness you found it! I have a heat vent near my desk and when something flies wildly off onto the floor I’m always afraid it will fall down there. My only excitement this morning, besides reading an adventure/mystery, was a strange water running sound in the plumbing behind the shower which we were concerned was a valve leaking behind the walls. Thankfully it was just something weird going on with the shower head and my husband has chosen a fancy new one.

I took a walk, did house work, and made some important calls.

At least you found it. I’m still missing two favorite dies that I know I had when making cards for CARDtober. I’ve cleaned my craft room, crawled around on the floor, but they are still missing. I’m worried they may have ended up in the trash with some scraps. I checked the trash that hadn’t gone out yet, but no luck. They may have gone out to the trash a week or two ago, and may be long gone. I hope to still find them, but awhile back, I lost a stamp set and a phrase stamp that still haven’t turned up, and it’s been at least a year.

I've started to put dies back in their packaging promptly just so that I CAN look through the trash before it goes out if there's one missing! Individual polymer stamps are more likely to turn up stuck to a binder or the package of another set or some other surface than in the trash with the scraps, so I worry a little less about them.

I collect my trash until I have time to put everything away and make sure nothing is missing. I was missing a clear stamp and could not find it for a few months , but than I was reorganizing and it was stuck to some plastic storage on my table. Very excited to have it back. Than a hero art die was missing for a couple years until I moved furniture around, it was stuck to the wall. So there is hope scrapnnana.

I do typically check my scraps before throwing them away. And I usually remove the dies. I am hoping to still find the missing ones, even if it takes awhile. My craft room definitely needs an overhaul, but I don’t have the time or energy right now.

I once left a stamp to dry on the kitchen counter. Later it was missing. Somehow I thought to check the dishwasher, imagining someone putting a cup or bowl on it. It was in the bottom of my dishwasher! Everytime I use that stamp I think about that. I lost a "Happy St. Patrick's Day" stamp out of a set - one thing missing from a set makes me annoyed. I bought the set again on ebay but never got around to getting rid of the incomplete set. Months later I found the stamp stuck on the bottom of a spray bottle of fireplace cleaner, so I reunited it with its friends and gave the ebay set to a crafty friend. I never found my school of fish stamp and I liked that set, so I got that set again.
Last night I heated up some water and had a glue tip cleaning session. When I went to clean up I found the pin for one of the tiny nozzles but not the nozzle. I looked on the floor, in my scrap pile, the trash, in a jar of utensils I'd been using (tweezers, scissors, etc.) This morning I was putting the other glue tips away and I realized the missing tip was on top of the glue! I'd used it right after the cleaning session and not put the pin back in. This senioritis is ridiculous.

My husband thinks I'm odd for rarely emptying my waste paper bin at my desk but there's a reason... Stamps do tend to stick to other plastic things and being clear makes them extra difficult to find, but there's always hope. Finding dies amongst paper scraps or trash might be easier with a magnet.
