There was a post on Facebook by Hero Arts wishing her the best and that they would miss her. I hope everything is okay.

WOW, Libby just posted on her IG stories that she was laid off from MFT! Again I'm pretty shocked. Well I'm shocked it only last 6 months but I still think Libby with MFT was an odd combo.

Sounds more like a business/financial decision than a creative decision.
Copy/pasted from her story: Well today took a turn. I am officially unemployed! It was fun while it lasted, but I was laid off from MFT. It's rough out there folks - if you have a stamp company you love, SUPPORT THEM! They are doing everything they can right now to stay afloat.

Oh yeah, it totally sounded like a financial situation. It just seems like the financial situation wouldn’t have changed so drastically in 6 months so why hire her in the first place.

Um….
Surely that's not as poor planning as the company that hired me in March and laid me off three weeks later in April!

Maybe they thought bringing her in from Hero would boost sales? I agree, poor planning.

Wow. I had no idea MFT is struggling. I used to really love them, but then came to the conclusion that I really don't enjoy coloring that much so I stopped purchasing stuff from them. I really hope the company can stay afloat. We've lost too many crafty business lately.

I'm sad for Libby. She is one of my favorite crafters.

I'm the same - I don't want any of these companies to fail, but I have to shop for things I love and use, and coloring is not my jam.

Coloring IS my jam, but super-cute is not.

I was on the MFT website to grab a couple product photos for a craft inventory app and saw they are running a 40% off coupon. There are a LOT of sold out products.

Wonder if it is a supply issue or just purely financial problems? I know Gina K has had several things-machines, stamps and dies- delayed. And the Tim Holtz new scissors release was delayed from April till now. I hate it for MFT. Their products are good quality stuff. But yesssss Lord the coloring. I am not a colorer. I wanted to be, but I cannot. And as my kids have grown up over the years, I grew out of the cutesy of most of their products. I do buy the card kits occasionally. Their stitching flower one last year was great. And their sentiments are good. It also seems social media has left them behind. They do not have the presence that other companies do. Which has to hurt. Maybe that is what they were looking for in Libby. Poor thing. She posted a YouTube video yesterday for them. And then got laid off.

Some of their new stuff is sold out and that seems like a good thing for them?? They also have Yana Smakula and Laura Bassen do some work for them. Everything has just gotten so expensive it's nuts for us and the companies

The fact that Ralph Tyndall, with his huge and young social media audience, started at HA as soon as Libby announced her departure makes me think that it wasn't really her choice there, either. It does make me sad all the way around, though.

I'm sorry to hear this as I really liked her classes for Hero Arts.
MFT is listed as one of the companies for SCT's fall card event with Libby as instructor so I guess we'll see what happens there.
