Every year I’m tempted to get the cedar garland from Costco and this is no exceptions. I’m curious how long it lasts, how you use it, does it shed/drop needles? It’s so pretty and not a bad price (but needs to be replaced yearly) but I’m wondering if it lasts very long.

I haven't had a Costco one, but anything fresh always disappoints me. I harvest a few fresh greens on my own from our groves and poke them into my outside urns, but anything I buy always seems on deaths door when I get it. I know you can soak to revive some - but it seems like it is nasty weather and I really don't want to do it in my house and it's too cold to do it outside. And they don't last all that long before starting to make a big mess, and I worry about fire. I did purchase some 'reel feel' garland and I love it. I bought another garland, a wreath and two small norfolk pine trees this year. Don't wait if you want some, they sell out fast. This is the tree I purchased, and it looks like a live Norfolk pine. I ordered in early October - shows sold out right now: AFloral Norfolk PineAnd the garland (also sold out right now) : AFloral Norfolk garlandMix in a little other naturals or greenery and they really look much more expensive! I currently have some fall florals/naturals in with the pine garland on my dining table and an amber led light string.

I just buy them at a local place where I get my wreaths and Christmas tree.

I bought a Noble Fir one in 2019. Loved it. I got it shortly after Thanksgiving and threw it away a few days after Christmas.
I followed the directions of watering. Only had a few dry spots and a few needles drop off.
I felt it was worth the $35 or $40 I spent on it.
Ours was outside on the door.
ETA doh I thought you said wreath. That is what I got.

Don't do it! They smell nice but they are work! The needles dropping is a big PITA! I'm team fake all the way!

Not for indoors but for outside for sure. We have a large window at the front of the house that our tree goes in. And on the sill outside I put all the greenery and some decorative picks I keep year after year.

I had to laugh because besides Kristin, everyone who agreed is from Texas. We know what’s up with cedar!

I saw those and was tempted, too! But allergies and needles made me reconsider. I was at Michael’s the other day and they had some nice garlands that were 40% off. I bought one with snow fluff and pine cones for the front porch.

Outside, yes. Inside, no. A big part of why we stopped getting real trees was due to the needles that shed inside EVERYWHERE. It’s been three years and I still find pine needles trapped in the corners of the carpet and trapped at the edge of the room by the baseboards even after vigorous vacuuming. I still usually get a real wreath for the front door (outside) and even with that I end up with needles inside my house. I’m not sure how you would water a garland to keep it from drying out from the indoor heat and shedding everywhere.

THE MESS. ugh. I did it once here in dry Denver, and regretted it every single day because it dried out so quickly. Then I tried it the year we lived in much more humid Virginia, and it still dried out so quickly--even with me misting it with water frequently.
NEVER AGAIN!

Thanks for (un) enabling me to:) I might look for some nicer fake garland i(what I have is cheap) but we will see. I’ll skip the real for now.

I get some mixed greens from a florist and keep them in a vase of water - no issues and smells beautiful.
Fake trees and garland for me, though.

I live in humid South Central Texas, but we vacationed in Colorado in 2019 and an hour past the state line we had to stop for some chapstick. I swear I’d slather some on and 15 minutes later I’d need it again. And we run the a/c year round so our house is dry. I have no idea how y’all deal with that. Well, yes I do. Gorgeous views! And non-frizzy hair was pretty cool too.
