Good Morning.
Sil is leaving for mil's house this am. I finally have a video visit for my problem this am. Apart from that I'm going to bake some keto blondies for dh. Dinner is rechauffe veggie and wild rice soup, salad and baguette.
What's on your menu?
What are you up to today?
teddyw, how are you feeling? I hope you're much better.
May today be a happy, healing and peaceful day for all.

My finger is so sore that I unwrapped it. It is the part with the packing that is sore. Otherwise I thought it looked good..I did not want to risk tearing the delicate skin. So I just wrapped it back up and I'm waiting impatiently to see the doc at 2 today. I'm logged into work but things are slow. Unfortunately though someone scheduled a 4pm meeting! As an early bird I hate later meetings. But I should be back and I really need to be there. Tonight is dinner at Mom's. She is making pasta with pesto and sundried tomatoes. But I guess she's also making polish sausage and sauerkraut too. My sauerkraut loving husband will be grateful. I do not like sauerkraut. So I don't make it often. Pasta for me please! And it is about damn time they fix you up scrapmaven

linda, breakfast for dinner sounds really comforting. Yummy. Enjoy your day and then enjoy dinner. jeremysgirl , argh. I truly hope your doctor can make this problem go away, quickly. Since we've been running a race, how about we shake hands(other hands that aren't injured)and agree to finish together? I'm sending healing thoughts to you.

Good luck scrapmaven with your video visit. jeremysgirl I hope that finger is better soon! Today is slower (yay). I went vehicle shopping yesterday, so hopefully I can get something found today and make it official soon. It's not a rush for me, but now that I found kind of what I like, I'm excited for it. I have a root touch up this afternoon, and am trying to decide if I want a cut or not, maybe 3", maybe nothing. Dinner tonight might be out to eat with my kids. Happy Friday Eve!

I'm sending healing thoughts to you. I hope that finger is better soon! I think it's alright. I don't see any visible signs of infection. Just the packing is rubbing and keeping the wound open. So they should remove it, make sure there's no more infection and close me up.

I'm off to do a lot of my Thanksgiving dinner shopping. Dinner will be the Jalapeno Chicken Poppers that I didn't do yesterday as I opted for a pot roast with carrots, potatoes and onions.

I have had a slow day today. When I woke up, the site where I had my vaccine yesterday was quite red and sore to touch, so I decided I needed to take things easy. Other than the redness, I don't feel ill at all. I went for a walk and have done a bit of knitting and some hand washing of finished sweaters that needed to be done, but that's all. Dinner tonight is sweet potato shakshuka. We haven't had it for ages and DH asked for it. It is also simple to make, so perfect for today. cadoodlebug - thanks for your meme. I knew something was missing from my shakshuka, and it was spinach! Thankfully, I always have frozen leaf spinach on hand, so I could add it.

I need to do this shopping too. I worked on my ingredient list yesterday. It'll probably be tomorrow on my way home from work, that way the store won't be busy.

so up in seattle after a very very long drive. dh and I left 6 am.. then he remembered he forgot his mom's present at home ---we were at the east end of the bay bridge.. so we had to turn around and crawl through an hour of traffic and finally left home 2 hours after the first start. we only stopped for gas and bathroom.. and made it on the 10 pm ferry with exactly 2 min to spare.. saved us from waiting another hour for the next ferry..
so this morning, ran down to market for breakfast and dinner stuff.. about to go visit mother in law in her care home.
tonight, we are having salad with teriyaki meatballs sauteed in pan. tomorrow, there is a big family dinner (all 5 of us!). it is sunny and cold on Whidbey island outside seattle.
we will be back home wednesday.. so I can cook a little turkey on thursday.

Sending both jeremysgirl and scrapmaven my well wishes! I picked up a few prescriptions this afternoon for my cough, so hopefully those will knock it out. The cough syrup is the trifecta -- it has the stuff to loosen mucus, help the cough, AND an antihistamine). Did a drug interaction check just to be safe. First result is the cough syrup interacting, with, wait for it, ... the cough syrup, simply because it does so much. The doc at urgent care said take it before bed because it can knock you out. I guess one lady complained to her once about it so now she tells everyone. And if needed, I can lower the dosage from 10 mg to 5. DH does NOT like the dinner I made this week, and I'm pretty meh about it myself, so maybe I'll make some eggs and bacon for dinner. Hope you all have a great day!

Hi dinner tonight could be burgers maybe. I think my dad would rather eat with the kids and I than at the golf club. The paella was delicious last night. I have to remember to get saffron the next time I go to the Mediterranean deli.

We had chicken stir fry last night. I am craving a Chick Fil A cobb salad so that may be my suggestion for tonight. I will also be shopping this weekend for Thanksgiving. We decided to just not go anywhere and cook at home for the 3 of us. Should be a nice quiet Thanksgiving!

Full on head cold but not Covid. Thank goodness because I’m finally seeing the dr for a biopsy. Doubt he’ll do it today. I just looked at his picture. He’s a baby! Also finally got my referral for the ABUS with my mammogram. Now they’re booked until march. Dinner is up in the air because I could be here long. And I need groceries. It’s 67 here right now. Hopefully I can get a good walk in before dark. I hope they resolve your issue today scrapmavendestined2bmom I’m hoping your dr is wrong about your back. 🙏🏻

teddyw , I'm sorry that you're ill and doing a biopsy on top of it. I will think only benign thoughts for you. I hope you feel much better, quickly and that all goes well. rymeswithpurple , thank you. Enjoy breakfast for dinner. scrappintoee , I'm sending you good news thoughts for your appt. Please let us know how it goes.
Finally. I talked to the right doctor and gained clarity. Now I can finally heal this stupid problem. He was a nice guy and very savvy. I like that in a doctor.

Yes! Good news for Darcy Collins good progress for rymeswithpurple scrapmaven has a good plan from a savvy doctor! And I am healing. There is no longer any visible sign of infection. With that said, my sister says my finger looks like a zombie finger and Delta Dawn saw enough pics to cure her desire for a pedicure. Haha...there wasn't enough nondamaged skin to stitch it. So it's still open and needs to heal on its own. As long as I don't see any regression I can see them on the 28th.

I want everyone to feel better … scrapmaven , jeremysgirl , destined2bmom , teddyw , scrappintoee , and who am I missing? I’m sure I’m missing someone. Congrats on the good news, Darcy Collins ! Today (gotta leave in a few minutes) I am finally, finally getting my hair colored. So much gray. I can’t wait. Going to make her take before and after pictures. Because I’m not coordinated enough to take decent selfies. Dinner tonight will be chicken pot pie from Costco. ETA rymeswithpurple! You’re the one I left out. Feel better, my dear.

I’m just back from taking Walker for a big walk in a local park. He still pees in the car so I put on his diaper, his harness, his leash, grabbed water for both of us, treats and off we went. It was almost as much work as getting a baby ready to go out! Regardless, he was so good on the walk even though he sniffed a million trees and really wanted to go in the water.
DH got a Covid vaccine today - and he decided himself to get one without me hassling him about it. He and the pharmacist had a good discussion about his by pass surgery and he thought he was doing great with his recovery. DH also cut the grass today albeit with our riding lawnmower.
Supper tonight is McDonalds.

lucyg ~~ Add me to the list of the ill & injured. My right knee has blown up very swollen and hurts like @#$%^!! I had a synthetic injection under the kneecap in mid September for the osteoarthritis. I thought that a baker's cyst had formed behind my knee last week. I was standing a lot as I was at a quilting seminar and had to stand to cut the fabric, press the fabric etc. I saw my family doc on Tuesday and she gave me some pain meds but they aren't helping and the swelling is getting bigger. I called my ortho doc and was told that I need to see my family doc again and she has to order some imaging and then the ortho doc will see me. What a run around. So here I am, popped up on perc, probably pui'ing and still in a LOT of pain. I am also taking ibuprofen to reduce the inflammation and topical Voltaren gel. Dinner will probably be soup from a can and a bag of chips with some coffee crisp ice-cream for dessert, as that is what I have that is easy to prepare. Hope the other ailing peas are slowly getting healthy.

We’re cooking breakfast for dinner. Ds is making hash with leftovers from Monday’s boiled dinner. We’re having eggs, pancakes and bacon as well. I don’t care for hash.
I hope you’re all feeling better soon!

quiltz you had me at chips and coffee crisp ice cream! Is it as amazing as the candy bar?? So sorry about your knee woes. I’m five weeks post op from a total replacement of my right knee. I’m wondering how I can return to work in a week and a half. I see the surgeon next Wednesday for another follow up.

scrapmaven good news finally for you. I loved my new dr. The dr who delivered all my girls convinced him to do his residency here and he never left. He gave me the option to do the biopsy on the spot so I did. No drugs because I drove myself. Glad it’s over with but I’ll have surgery whether it’s cancer or not unfortunately. With anesthesia but outpatient. Now I wait for that call. scrappintoee 🤞🏻you don’t need another surgery. Still don’t know what’s for dinner. Leaving it up to dh. @rhymeswithpurple I hate when a meal doesn’t go as planned especially after all that prep. Glad you had good news today Darcy Collins

lostinspace you had me at chips and coffee crisp ice cream! Is it as amazing as the candy bar?? Better than the chocolate bar because the ice cream is coffee flavoured and with chunks of the coffee crisp candy in the ice-cream, it is very delicious. A grocery store, Sobey's, uses coffee crisp bars and creates danish pastry, donuts, cookies and cakes using this very goodness of a chocolate bar. There are coffee crisp ice cream bars on a stick, with the coffee ice creams coated with the crushed bar and dipped into chocolate. All is delicious.
