I just realized that Amazon now has a pharmacy for mail order prescriptions. Has anyone used this service before? It seems easy but wanted to get some feedback before we try it.
Thank

A good friend uses it for one particular medication. We’ve discussed it and she’s had no complaints.

I use it and found it very easy to navigate. When I transferred my med from one Rite Aid pharmacy to another it was a disaster. It took a week before they could find it. And they are not very nice at the new pharmacy (the Rite Aid I used closed). So I looked into Amazon Pharmacy. They got it transferred within the hour and it was shipped the next day after they verified my insurance. I pay almost half of the cost through Prime on the 3 month auto ship. So far so good.

I'm really weary of Amazon having so much control over my life (think Alexa). I don't really want them knowing what meds I take.

DH used Amazon Pharmacy earlier this year for his meds. There were issues with communications between AP and his doctor's office, then later issues with getting some medications. He finally gave up after about 6 months and switched back to the pharmacy at our HEB. I opted to never use them as I didn't like the idea of Amazon being involved in my medicines.

His pharmacy company is the one all the PBMs are worried about (competition wise). He’s doing some really great things for the consumer.

I'll have to look into this. I have been using the Kroger savings card instead of insurance but just got notice that they are no longer going to have this program after the first of the year.

Look into GoodRx. We have found most of our medication on there to be cheaper than insurance, even without a GoodRx membership.

Yes, I have one script that I pay out of pocket for at CVS and it's around $30/mo. Through Amazon its around $6/month.

We use it for our maintenance meds. No issues with billing our insurance (though 1 med is a few $ cheaper without ins). The only kinda issue is that they request refills from the dr way sooner than I’d like. I have one med (imitrex) which the insurance thinks should last a month (9pills) but if I needed to max out everyday the order is a 2 day supply. So Amazon consistently tries to be prepared for early refills and that confuses my dr so every few months they call me and ask why I’m going thru so many.

I'm Quoting this post for no other reason but to say this (not a dig at the poster who posted). I get the feelings toward Amazon, but honestly, if this is a way for Americans to be able to save money on needed drugs, do what you have to do. I would 2nd the person who mentioned Msrk Cubans sight first, but if Amazon Pharmacy works for you, and saves money, that's great.

Yes but I actually see this as a way for them to work their way into the drug business, create a monopoly and then raise the prices. Yes, competition is good but Amazon has been around for a while with this pharmacy and it isn't creating cheaper drugs. Amazon is too big and too much of our daily lives are influenced by them. I could be talking out of my ass but that is how I feel about it. I am very lucky that my meds are very inexpensive and "knock on wood" that I don't need some very expensive life saving medicine. It makes me incredibly angry when those who need those meds, cannot afford them or find them.

Well, I just tried to sign up and they don't take my insurance which is Aetna. Very strange.

We can't use it because they don't have a compounding pharmacy. One of dd's meds is a compound liquid and is $35. I would love to not pay $35 a month but it is a level 3 med on the list which means max of $35 co-pay. We don't pay more than that for any high level drug.

I'm going they are going to choose the Mark Cuban path though!

I found them to be very limited in what meds they have available for a low price. They did not have a single one of my meds on their list, so that was a bust.
