I want to order an electric Switch or Gemini Jr and love Scrapbook.com’s pretty pink machines. But they want $70 to ship it! When you include shipping, the price is almost double JoAnn’s price. I get that it costs to ship, but we all know it doesn’t cost $70.
Any typical deals on shipping for Black Friday/Cyber Monday?

wow! I think they calculate shipping based on price not weight. You can get the Gemini Jr on Amazon (free shipping) for $158. |

I would be surprised if they didn't do a "free shipping if you spend over x amount" deal at some point this week. I want to say they have done that in the past, but don't quote me on that  |

They may do a sale on shipping this week (they're usually pretty short) but you could also try emailing them and asking if the shipping price is an error. That does happen, and letting them know would help everybody  And if it's not a mistake then at least they can hear some feedback on why people are buying it elsewhere. |

According to their FAQ they charge by weight. And those machines are heavy. I think the pink color is exclusive to them though. They occasionally have a shipping though so you might want to check their site daily.

$70? That is crazy. Lol.... I know internationals, I know.... But I’m in the US. It ships from Michigan, only 2 states over. The specs say the machine weighs 10 lbs, so even if it’s 15 lbs with the packaging, $70+ is ridiculous. |

SBC is located in Arizona which may be why the shopping is high. ACOT is located in Michigan.

I just checked scrapbook.com, added a Switch to my cart (the pretty pink one) and did calculate shipping to MN (Twin Cities zip code since that is where I am) and it was 19.99 to ship. Not great, I know, but much better than 70.00. It might be worth a try to do it again, maybe they were having a glitch. |

It sounds like everyone is sorted now but I just saw someone mention that scrapbook dot com usually does a free shipping discount during the 12 days of Christmas sale rather than Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

I did pay for shipping, but it was (only!) $19 vs $72. With the 12% off they were running for Black Friday, it pretty much came out even. The Switch was still cheaper at JoAnn’s but only by $15. I decided it was worth $15 to get the smaller machine and in the pink color that I liked. Plus, the reviews of the cutting pressure between the two machines favored the Gemini. So it all worked out. Thanks for everyone’s help!
