I just wanted to let everyone know that I was able to go to Berla’s service today. I live a couple towns away from Don and wanted to show support from the peas.
It was a very nice service and we would have all been lucky to have known Berla. She radiated joy that you could see in her smile. She was a lovely lady.
I did not talk to Don as I felt this was family time. But I left a card and signed the guest book so he will know the peas were with him.

I think I saw you leaving, I just thought you were one of Berla's co-workers from Macy's or Sears. I didn't make the connection until I got home and saw the cards people left.
I remember looking at Berla in the casket and thinking maybe I could just take her home instead of burying her.
