which do y’all prefer? i’ve been creating monthly 6x8 SNAP and Studio Calico albums. I’m considering a 9x12 album for December. i’m wondering if there’s a big difference in the sizes when it comes to creating albums.
note: I already own at least eight (6x8) albums and only one (9x12 - which is discontinued with no page protectors that fit).

I use 9x12 for yearly(s) and 6x8 for October Daily and December Daily.
I like the smaller album for 1 month.
In the 9x12 I have gotten 3 years of events and life for dd and ds. I prefer bigger as more happens.

Between the 2 there is a noticeable difference. Number of pockets and space if you do a single page layout.
My favorite pages is the single 9x12 and 9 3x4 pockets.

I do 9x12 for project life and find it's perfect for weekly spreads. I use 6x8 for self-contained projects with a specific start/end, like December Daily, Week in the Life, travel. I find the two album sizes very different and not at all interchangeable. I would say 9x12 is way more similar to 12x12, just if you'd prefer a rectangle to square page. It also depends on if you like to print full page photos and how large you can print. I do have an oversized printer, but most people don't have the ability to print 9x12 easily. On the other hand, you can print 6x8 on a standard printer or, if you order prints, that size is much more affordable. I honestly hadn't considered doing 9x12 for a standalone project, but now that you mention it, it might be fun for week in the life.

I scrap 6x8 for non event pictures like happy hour with friends. Events go on 12 x 12 pages. I didn’t even know there were 9 x 12 pages.

They never really got a big following but I think scrapbook dot com has/had some. They’re popular as a photo-size-friendly alternative to trying to do pocket pages in a Letter size album. When I did PL and physical DD albums I found 6x8 to be quite constraining for my wordy shutterbug self. But I tried Letter size one year for PL and found the extra size was too much for me. The album felt very big and got extremely heavy. Each page was a lot more space than I expected considering it isn’t that much bigger than 6x8. But your mileage may vary! I can’t even imagine making a 12x12 album, found even my 6x8 DD got too chunky for my liking, and switched to photo books. I would try making a page or two in 9x12 to see how you like it

I did some disney trips in 9X12 and I just loved the size for that project. I took a lot of photos and I also wanted to print some really big photos. SB.com has a lot of page protectors if that's your thing. I did mostly full-page layouts on cardstock/pattern paper. I also did some different size pages inside because it's pretty versatile for that.

Thanks everyone!
I’ve decided to use 9x12 for my December Daily and stick with 6x8 for monthly albums.
I am still trying to get back to 12x12 layouts. Just so much real estate

Do you have the old 4 ring Studio Calico 9x12 album? I have extra page protectors if you are interested. I love the Scrapbook.com 9x12 albums for the 3 rings and the great prices. It's perfect for my yearly albums. It's easy to use all kinds of page protector sizes in a 9x12 which can be really fun. Plus a 2 page 9x12 photo is stunning. I order them as 12x12 from Persnickety when they have print or credit sales. I've used 6x8 for December for the past decade or so and now it's just really easy for me to assemble. I also love a full size photo in the 6x8 size.
