I said I wouldn’t buy it, too expensive, required too many specialty products, etc but I watched a Yana video and my willpower went out the window. I already had the die set and the Betterpress plate (for hot foiling) that Yana used and the Amazon price of $66.00 I had to get it. So the next time you see me post here that I’m not buying something you can remind me of this and just how weak I am.

Which particular video inspired your purchase? I'd like to be inspired as well 😉

I love my Betterpress, I hope you enjoy it I love that you can use the plates for foiling, and at this point, I would prefer to buy Betterpress plates over hot foiling plates. Also, other companies like PinkFresh and Altenew are making their own Betterpress plates which is great because while I like Spellbinders and some of their designs, it's generally not my style. Now Pinkfresh, when they release their plates starting this month, can just take my money.

So far I haven't been tempted to buy it BUT my bestie has it on her Christmas list so if she gets it I can play with it & see what I think.
I'm a bit more interested now that I've heard other companies will be coming out with Betterpress plates...

I bought it when it came out, and didn't use it. I bought plates that I liked, and all the inks, but I was always "you need to do XYZ this morning and then you can play with your toy all afternoon" and I never got XYZ done soon enough. Finally, this past weekend, I took it over to my mother's to play with it.
You know those goofy "O My God" faces all the Youtubers made when they first tried it? Same look on both our faces. The look of it really does not come across in videos or photos. The lines are so detailed and transfer so beautifully!

So far I've managed to resist as I really don't want to have to store special plates, ink, and paper; but I do love seeing what people do with it. At some point all the pretty things might make me give in.

I have a question on the inks from Spellbinders. I bought the set with the bark black and 2 others the use with dies that have embossed lines. It super dry. Like if you push it in a piece of paper it barely shows. Is this normal? Scrapbookpal sent another set the same day I emailed them. It is the same and I hate to make them replace it again and will probably contact Spellbinders. Thanks cathy

I bought it from Amazon too. I only plan to buy word plates. No special ink or paper. I have a ton of watercolor paper to use.

Once upon a time, I said I would not get into stamping because stamps were too pricey for the amount of cards I could (would want) to make from one stamp set. And the inks! I would need to have many colors.
Well..... now at least a third of my craft room is dedicated to card making. But I REFUSE to get into hot foiling. I am not looking. At all!

I draw the line at hot foiling. I have stamps, ink, dies, Betterpress, and that’s enough for me. If I want sparkle, I have glitter, lunar paste, etc.

I actually love using the betterpress plates for hot foiling. The betterpress plates seem to work better for hot foiling than the regular hot foil plates. They come out perfect everytime.

So far, I have successfully managed to resist the foiling trend, but it's quickly becoming obvious that it's going to be harder for me to resist the Betterpress trend.

The cards with hot foil are beautiful, but the idea of buying a new system of machine, plates, supplies, etc., just brings back more feelings and thoughts of “when is enough actually enough for me?”
I will enjoy seeing the cards made with it, but I am not spending a dime on another system.
