The Silhouette Black Friday sale got extended to Nov. 30th. All designs are 50% off.
They also have a Credit Boost sale, and a sale on their subscriptions, which I think also got extended.
If you get a subscription, and choose the auto renew option, you continue to get the subscription sale price when it renews in a year.
With the subscription that I have, every month I get $150 worth of designs of my choice for less than $12.
Since I am getting each 99 cent design for about 8 cents, I buy designs that I like and think will be useful. I have them well organized, so it’s easy to find what I want in my library. It’s a really great deal when buying fonts.
If I don’t spend all of my subscription, what wasn’t spent carries over to the next month, but it needs to be used before it expires (60 days).
If I do spend all of my sub funds before they expire, then I get an additional discount on designs. Last night I noticed that the 99 cent designs were showing up as being 25 cents each, since they were already half price, and I had spent all my month’s subscription credits, so I got an additional discount for any files that I purchased, until I get my next month’s $150 credit.
I then used free credits that I had received (for buying designs with my subscription credits) to buy credit points, which don’t have an expiration date. So the 99 cent files that I was buying last night really cost me literally nothing.
In addition to the regular cut files, print and cut designs, and fonts, I like to buy Silhouette patterns to fill shapes (like banners, titles, etc.) that I can print and cut for cards and layouts. That option means that I don’t have to cut into a 12x12 patterned paper in my stash that is no longer available, and that I would prefer to save for scrapbook pages instead of cutting it up for my card making. The digital paper designs in Silhouette take up no room in my craft stash. They are stored on the Cloud, so they don’t take up room on my computer, either.
I am both a card maker and a scrapbooker. I make t-shirts and home decor with my machine, too. I have no LSS near me, plus I am a caregiver, so I can’t just go out shopping if I need something.
Even if I cancel my subscription, the designs that I have downloaded are mine to keep forever. They won’t disappear if I stop subscribing. Also, Silhouette offers SVG files which can be used with other electronic cutters, such as the Cricut.
This won’t work for everyone, especially those who are minimalists or are easily overwhelmed by too many options, but this has worked well for me. I am adept at designing my own files, but that takes time, and I feel that my sub saves me both time and money.
I have no affiliation with Silhouette. I’m just a customer.
