FEB 13 - EDIT AND PROBLEM
After Shakti posted her sudden change in cutting, I took a close (glasses off, nose to trimmer) look at my "track" so see if I had any paper in there. No paper. My trimmer is still cutting well. But the SIDES of the track are flaking/breaking! There are several places along my track where there are gouges/flakes/cuts in the hard plastic that makes up the track. There were a few pieces of the PLASTIC that I removed from the track! I'm certain these will over time lead to inaccurate and ragged cuts. Since this trimmer has seen only LIGHT use since December (gave it a work out with card bases but then less use) I am alarmed and think Tonic may have a mess to clean up here. Sigh! My "perfect trimmer" might be garbage after all Given what I see on mine I cannot recommend at all. This is a problem I’ve had. I didn’t mention it because I thought it was user error. I still brought this as my only trimmer on a scrappy retreat about a month ago because a friend wanted to see it. Until that weekend, I was wary of using it because I kept nicking that interior channel. That weekend I discovered, for me at least, if I push the blade down while it’s at the top or bottom end, I don’t get the nicks. It seems to be when I push the blade down in the middle, that’s when I get nicks in the channel. With all that said, I like my cutterpede better. I use this trimmer if I want to gut paper, but otherwise I prefer the rotary blade. Ironically, that’s the only Tim Holtz trimmer I don’t own. This will be crop trimmer only. It travels well and for a day or weekend crop, it works well enough for me.

I just looked at mine. I got it in December as well and it has some plastic issues on the tracks as well. They're really small at one spot right now (like where my 8.5x11 paper ends)
I'll keep an eye on it. It and my medium TH Guillotine are the only trimmers I have right now. So hopefully I don't have too much trouble with it.

I use this trimmer daily and while I do get paper in the track, I don’t have any plastic issues. I ran my fingernail down it and it’s smooth. I’m bummed that you guys are having issues.

Something to look forward to I really like this trimmer but I haven’t done much crafting the last few months. I have three other trimmers but still.

I checked mine out and same issue, a few small nicks in the plastic. Bummer, like this trimmer and so far has not impacted accuracy.

I am both relieved that I didn't do something to cause the issue and sad that this trimmer seems to have this flaw. I will keep an eye on it and contact Tonic if I see plastic, not paper, gunk again.
