Last year I was so heavy with grief we didn't even decorate. Progress is wanting to celebrate and put up a tree this year. I usually must have the biggest, bushiest tree I can find. Always colored lights. A mishmash of random ornaments. Heavy on the tinsel. Candy canes hung everywhere. But this year this little tree spoke to me. It said try something different this year starting with a tree that pint sized me could reach the top of. I decided that we would just do white lights this year. Why not a light up tree topper? Some star fabric I could make a homemade tree skirt. And searching all the bins for every majority white, silver, and glass ornament I could find. The finishing touch being these strings of silver stars that are meant to be a party supply. I am pretty happy with my little, Charlie Brown tree. I'm glad we tried something different this year. I would really like to see pics of your trees. I don't care if they are worthy of the White House display or if they are simply a random assortment of things you have collected over the years or if you decorate solely with ornaments your kids did as class projects in elementary school. I want to ooh and ahh over your trees. (I also welcome pictures of other decor or even outside decorations.) Let's enjoy the glow of everyone's Christmas trees.

Love your tree jeremysgirl! I have had a white tree for many many years ... got rid of the old yellowing one last year when I moved into my condo and bought this 7 foot iridescent beauty. Here it is:

I love it and it will make you smile every time you walk into the room.
Mine doesn't go up for another week or so, so can't share pics. I usually wait for DGD to come over and help.

leannec I just love how bright your tree looks. It lights up the whole room. I never realized how reflective a white tree could be.

jeremysgirl - Your tree is beautiful and perfect for your family this year. While holiday traditions are great to have, it's good to change things up once in a while. That’s beautiful! I’d love to share mine but gotta get it up first! Same here! I plan to get mine up on Saturday and will come back to share.

ETA: I can't get these blasted images to show up correctly. Sorry.
When we bought this house a couple of years ago, I knew I had to go over the top in the foyer, and I do. We have hosted a segment of the annual neighborhood progressive dinner the last two years, so I had to get it all decked out right after Thanksgiving since the dinner is the first weekend in December. I even have flamingos that I dress up at Christmas in the foyer, but I will spare you those. We have a small tree in the living room for our gifts, but the big tree in the foyer holds the travel ornaments we have collected over the last 32 years. And this is probably my favorite travel ornament. It changes color, but hard to see in this photo. I just think it's cool, and it's the first one I put on each year.

So glad you’re feeling up to decorating this year! That’s always a good indication for us how we’re doing with the holiday and it took many more years for that to happen, I’m very happy for you.
We've had the 2 trees up we are going to do this year for a few days now, but have yet to decorate either of them. This thread has motivated me to work on them tonight.

We don't even celebrate Christmas (although I have a healthy collection of Christmas vinyls and subject my family to Christmas music all month), and I am so loving this thread. Keep it coming!

brenda89 Love that you have a Starbucks’ tree in your craft room, I feel like that would be appropriate for so many people I know! The solid color balls on there are gorgeous, do you remember where you got them?

brenda89 Love that you have a Starbucks’ tree in your craft room, I feel like that would be appropriate for so many people I know! The solid color balls on there are gorgeous, do you remember where you got them? Thank you so much!! I made the balls on there, using clear glass ornaments (some are iridescent). I added glitter and I can't remember what else to the insides of them. There's some on the living room tree also. It's been a few years since I made them so I can't recall the process. I'll search and see if I can find how I did it.

I'll search and see if I can find how I did it. Oh wow, so I could make them exactly the colors I want? That would be perfect! I thought the ones on the other tree might be similar but couldn’t tell due to the photo not being as close up. I just love the shimmery aspect, such a nice change from the solid balls we have and I think it really adds something to the overall look of the tree! eta: Did you use floor polish? Or polyacrylic? That seems to be a popular method. But a lot of those are more translucent and I really like the depth of the color on yours.

Thanks for sharing Peaps! They are all so lovely.
I'm not sure if I'm going to put up a tree this year. I may just make a tree on my wall with washing tape. Dh and ds don't seem to care what I do.
