We have a small 4 ft. tree. I found a perfect star a few years ago, and now I can't find it. (Did it accidentally get thrown out?) I have one more place to look today and if it is not there, then..........

We always get a real tree, and sometimes the top branch is weak or not quite centered. The toppers with a corkscrew bottom don't work well, and my angel often looked tipsy. We recently added this top hat, and I love it. Even when it's a bit crooked, it looks "jaunty!" I put my top hat crooked on purpose!

I forgot that I threw my topper away last year. We bought a cheap topper when we were poor newlyweds and I’ve always hated it. I figured it would break within a few years and then I’ll get a nice one. But 25 years later, we were still using it. Last year, DH said to throw it away because he was tired me saying how much I hated it. We put up our tree last weekend and I had forgotten I threw it away. So I need to buy one. I like the idea of adding a Santa hat until we get a real one. Something tells me I’ll be using a Santa hat for the next 5 years. . .

Mickey Mouse in a Santa suit swinging a lantern on one tree, star on the other. The Mickey is sentimental, it was a grandma gift my daughters loved.

For my bigger tree, an angel. I have a 6 ft pencil tree though for now because our house is tiny and my big tree wouldn't fit. So now we have a big bow that is burlap & christmas-y ribbon.
