Nothing! Some years, I want white lights and that's it. This is one of those years. No ornaments, no garland, no tree topper.

For a long time it was the Angel from the tree at our December 22nd wedding. The ornaments on that tree were the favors. Now, a couple of the trees have these stars, one of each color, but we’re only putting one of those up this year. We’re looking for a really nice, plush Santa Hat for our Santa tree. And this year this is the topper for our sentimental tree, a Pittsburgh Steelers Elf on a Shelf because it makes DH smile. IMG_0862 by Carie (Dewryce) T, on Flickr

We had a lighted star that looked like mercury glass with white lights in it, but the lights stopped working last year and even my light fixer thing wouldn’t fix it. I couldn’t find a short enough string of lights to repair it. I replaced it with a multi colored snowflake because it was so late in the season that there were very few options left in the store. DD didn’t like it so she arm twisted me into buying another one exactly like the one that broke, LOL. What can I say, she’s a traditionalist.

Generally a Muppet baby Kermit the frog; I think he was a happy meal toy from years ago. I just slip the top branch under the back of his plaid vest, and voila!

I have a silver star that has a motorized thing inside that projects different coloured designs onto the ceiling ... it's very cool! I actually bought two so that I have another when this one stops working! ETA: Here it is!

Just this year I bought a silver star with glitter all over it. I usually have a bow.

I have a Santa holding a lantern. I used to be able to switch out a bulb from the string of lights with the bulb in Santa so that the lantern would be lit up. But given my lights are all now LEDs, Santa is somewhat obsolete. 🤭

For a long time, I had a really pretty kind of Victorian angel. Now we have a beaded bronze-colored star that ds picked out when he was about 4

Vintage tree finial that looks like the indent ornaments scattered through my tree. The hundreds of ornaments on my tree are all vintage or antique and it takes me for freaking ever to get the tree decorated but it's worth the labor of love.

Some years, an angel we got for our first Christmas tree, some years a big star.
The last few years it has been a black top hat. I picked it up from the Halloween costume clearance aisle and replaced the ribbon with some festive Christmas-y ribbon and a sprig of greenery.

Last 2 years I have had a santa hat on top. I downgraded to a 4 ft tree a few years ago and the angel that I originally had was way too big, plus she had seen better days. The branch that the topper would go on isn't that tall to support something big. I wanted to find a crocheted star but just didn't have the funds to purchase the one I liked off Etsy before I decorated the tree.

Our kids (young adults) battle it out to see which of the overly large ornaments they made as young kids will sit on top of the tree. This year we have one with a big pic of my oldest when she was three, complete with finger painting and her shakily-written name. She’s the star! 😂

We have two different tree themes. This year, we have an angel for our random religious/music/travel/random cute ornament tree. Next year, we will have antlers that are a headband that we put ribbon on, and we just throw it on top. It was the headband that our pup (that passed in 2013) wore for a family pic in front of the tree. The last Christmas we had him, we took it off after taking pics, and threw it up there. We liked how it looked, and it’s a reminder of him. That is for our outdoor themed tree.

I have 2 trees. One tree is hour travel memories tree. This year I have a star on top. My 2nd tree is our Star Wars tree and I have a Death Star on top. Definitely not a traditional tree. Lol.

I have an angel.. she's pretty.. never been 'in' love with it but it works. I had a big fabric red plaid bow for years and years that I loved but finally got tired of it. By the time I usually think about buying a new topper everything is pretty picked over. I should make it a point to keep my eye out throughout the year for something 'different'.
I think I would love something traveled themed. I saw a post from someone I follow who travels a lot and he found a 'star' that was made from airplane cutouts... the noses from the planes all met in the middle.

Nothing. I have a Seahawks tree topper and a Mickey santa hat that DS was supposed to put up (either or) while he was here but we forgot about it and I can't reach the top of the tree so it's bald

We have five trees up right now. One has angel, one has a giant bow with cascading ribbons, two have stars and one has an Eiffel Tower - it is our travel tree.

We always get a real tree, and sometimes the top branch is weak or not quite centered. The toppers with a corkscrew bottom don't work well, and my angel often looked tipsy. We recently added this top hat, and I love it. Even when it's a bit crooked, it looks "jaunty!"
