Hi, After our 3 month stay in the Canary Islands we are going to Morocco (Feb 22 for probably 5 weeks maybe 6). I know that there is a Pea who lives there and someone who has travelled there multiple times (Lauren?).
I have many questions. First is what riad would you suggest (or avoid) in the medina in Marrakesh? I think we will stay 5 nights.
I'm still working on my itinerary but, I would feel better if I could just get Marrakesh booked ASAP.

First off, the Canary Islands?!? I sure Hope you’re going to fill us in. I’d love to hear about it! As far as where to stay, I recommend Maison28: www.maison28marrakech.com/It’s in the Medina, has been fully remodeled and updated, and is owned by an American. She also has an active Instagram account if you want to get an idea of the place and Morocco (she travels with her retreats often) as a whole. I stayed In the Zara room. I’d love to hear your rough itinerary if you’re up to sharing. And do you need someone to guide you?!?  Unfortunately our pea who lives in Morocco has left the pod. Hopefully others who have traveled there will chime in as well. |

I found wearing a skirt in a country like morocco is a good idea for women. some of the public toilets are trench ones.. and carrying your own water and toilet paper and a baggie is also a good idea.
I would get a guide to help you through the markets.. they can be a maze that is hard to navigate on your own.. I found this to be a very friendly place.

That looks really nice but, I'm not sure my DH is a retreat kinda guy. It looks like the rooms that are on AirBnB have no availability after Feb 8th.
I know to bring TP with me to public toilets.
I'm still trying to figure out an itinerary. I'm worried that Morocco will be too much city for us.
