I had my annual Christmas Fish & Chip night with an old friend and her family. We started work at the same company (a big telco), fresh out of high school, far too many years ago to mention. Her brother and sister and dad all worked for the same company, as did my brother and dad and aunty - it was a real family affair!

Thank you for all the kind words about my soon to be grandma status!!! I have had our grandparent names picked out for ages! I am going to be Lolly and dh is going to be Pop. Together we will be Lolly-Pop!! jeremysgirl I can't wait to hear a review on the soup book. That corn chowder on the cover looks delicious!!! I had a slow start to the day, but I did manage to get my third and final Christmas tree decorated. They are all so different and I love them all. I still have the mantel and a few other places to decorate but at least the big task of the trees is finished. Tomorrow, I HAVE to go to Kohls. I have 55 dollars of Kohls cash and a 30% off coupon that I don't want to waste. I will probably look for some baby things!!  lucyg I would love to meet up with you one day at a scrap store in Dixon! Do you remember the restaurant The Milk Farm? We used to go there every time we went to my grandparents' house near Placerville. My sister has one of their dishes that has the logo of the cow jumping over the moon. It brings back great memories! Also, there was something else right around there, I think it was the Nut House, or Nut Farm something like that! |

cadoodlebug, sorry I didn’t manage to organize a meetup in Napa! Can you meet me at the scrapbook store in Dixon sometime? Haha, as we were driving past the Dixon exits, I told DH *that's where my friend Lucy goes for scrapbook weekends. I can't see myself ever driving there*! Driving on 50 is crazy terrifying these days. |

Also, there was something else right around there, I think it was the Nut House, or Nut Farm something like that! It's the Nut Tree. We stopped on our way to Napa and were SO disappointed. The family who originated it sold it off so now it's just a bunch of stores that you can find anywhere. They still have the Merry-Go-Round and the train but the engine is off for repairs. DH did get on one of the old play horses that he thinks was there when he was a kid.  |

So someone here (age 81.9) is under the weather and thinks he is going to two parties tonight. He doesn’t have COVID but has a cold and is coughing a lot. I want him to just go to bed. Old parents are stubborn. I'd be ticked if he came to a party I was at. Anyone with a cold/cough should stay the heck home!! Trust me he stayed home. He isn’t well. He was ok this morning but he isn’t good now. |
