Hi everyone! I have a few things to do today ... go to the bank, have my hair coloured and then my girlfriend might come over for dinner and Netflix ... she's been under the weather this week so we'll see how she feels ... It will be nice to not have dark roots for Christmas!  This is what I posted on Facebook today ... I have been posting my Christmas decorations in my condo all week ... These are Emma and Molly's stockings ... to say they are big would be an understatement ... what were we thinking?  . They get overfilled every year because my dd's are spoiled.   What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody! |

Feeling much better today. The young woman and her mom who organize our wonderful scrapbook weekends are having an open house today. It’s called a jingle mingle. Prizes and stuff on sale along with some good companies so that’s where I’ll be later. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Good evening all,
Today was the start of Christmas decorating. After our morning grocery run, we headed to the local Christmas tree sale point and picked out a lovely 2m tall pine. It is now in the corner of the living room, next to the TV, waiting for us to get around to putting things on it. We also brought all the decorations up from the cellar, so we are set to go.
At the supermarket, I was able to get myself an early Christmas present. For the past month or so, they have had a promotion where you received a sticker for every €5 you spent. After you collected 20 stickers, you could buy one of various kitchen appliances for a reduced price. One of the items was a multi cooker (instant pot, but different brand), but since I filled my sticker card, they haven’t had them in stock. Today as we were leaving, I looked at the display and they had one, so I went back and got it. I told DH he can wrap it as part of my present if he wants.
I also decided on DH’s present last night and this morning have ordered most of it from Amazon. There are a couple of ‘extras’ I want to add that I’d prefer to get from a real shop instead, but that will have to wait until Monday or Tuesday.
Dinner tonight is an Asian stir fry we bought ready to cook at the butcher shop this morning. We will also have rice.

It's a quiet day at home. I'm supposed to finish my Christmas list. Honestly, I don't really want or need anything, but I do have some puzzles on there and a cheapo fun watch. I need to get creative. I like experiences w/my family, but we'll do that anyway. Monday I'm going to scour our new Five Below and see if I can find some interesting stocking stuffers for the guys. Apart from sil's stuff, I'm done w/my shopping for others. Today I'm still sort of off. So, I'll rest. I will make chicken something for dinner. Maybe chicken sandwich for dh and he can have his french fries that he's been wanting? I'll put on my thinking/chef hat and think of something. Have a fun, relaxing and happy day, tribe. |

DH and I are getting ready to walk. Brrrr. It's 38 degrees outside! Dinner will be at my friend's party. I will eat a bowl of Chicken Noodle soup before we go since the party doesn't start until 7.  |

It’s looking like rechauffe or fend for yourself here. I’ll have a piece of meatloaf and a salad as well as a vegetable.
I have a nasty cold and just want to sleep but got up and showered and helped ds with some cleaning. We’re working on packing some of dgd’s bedroom but it’s hard with her here. Hopefully later a little tree will get put up.

Dinner is up in the air..dh is going to a concert early so I don't know what I will whip up..
clear and cool here today.. getting more errands done. getting excited about our next big trip this week.

destined2bmom , your body is asking for what it needs. So, have protein and I hope you feel better, fast. KelleeM , you have permission to stay in bed or in front of the tv and rest today. I hope you feel better fast, as well. cadoodlebug , that meme had to go to my sil. She has a black lab who eats her food in 30 seconds. Sil is always shocked that my kitties nibble a little at a time. Her best story revolves around key lime pie. It was her last slice and she had it on the counter w/her tea. She ran upstairs and when she came back to the kitchen her doggie had that goofy grin and her plate was empty. She said she was gone in less than a minute. Silly dog.
ntsf , where are you off to next week, if I can ask? Sounds like you're having some good fun lately. Yay. If you want to keep it private I will understand. I'm looking fwd to all of the getaways that dh and I will be able to do after retirement, very soon.

leannec , those are cute stockings. Do you have a stocking for yourself? Oh yes! It's the one I've had all my life! It has my name on it and everything! What is funny is that ex has the exact same stocking with his name on it and he was born two years later than me and all the way over in Quebec ... I was born in Calgary ... there must be a lot of 50-something Canadians out there with similar stockings! |

Today we are going to a Toys for Tots event in our clubhouse. It will start off with dinner and then mariachis will be entertainment. Dinner for tonight will be Brisket, baked potato, jello salad, roll and a slice of pie.

Happy Saturday!
DH and I got up and out of the house early. He helped me go to three of my offices and do some minor things.
Just got in from a walk and sitting here watching Purdue basketball. Thinking I might start wrapping presents but I’m not that motivated yet.
DH is on his own for dinner. I am taking the granddaughters out to eat before we go to the local high school Christmas Choral performance.
Take it easy and rest up my friends.

I helped my mom put Christmas lights on her balcony this
morning. She showed me the gifts she has for her 4 grand puppies. She’s now trying to decide which dog gets which box of treats and toy.
I’ve taken Walker for a walk and done some laundry. DH is napping so I’m going to read.
Supper will be pork chops - grilled if it’s not raining and baked in the oven if it is.

It is a beautiful day here in the NE, party sunny and the temp is in the low 50's😊
This morning we went out to breakfast...Note, I walked the mile and a half to our breakfast place, YEAH ME!!!
Afterwards we went and got the perfect tree, it is set up and the lights are on...I'll decorate it later...or not...last year the lights were all that went on the tree.
Dinner will be grilled rib eyes, baked potato and a green veggie, I have asparagus, broccoli or brussel sprouts...so DH can choose.
He was nicely "volunteered" to grill the steaks!!

Not sure what's for dinner, but DS and I are making a batch of chili to take to MIL's house in a little while (her request). DH is already at her house, but DS and I didn't want to leave that early, and also thought it would be easier to prep (chop & saute) all the veggies and brown and season the meat here, then put it all together once we get to her house. So we might have chili again, LOL. I also made cornbread to take because we can't have chili without cornbread! Not sure what DH will eat, but if I know my MIL she probably has a rotisserie chicken around, or something left that one of DH's sisters made when they were there yesterday.
As for MIL, she is still healing and working through PT for her fractured tailbone, but it doing much better than she was previously. Her mobility has improved to the point where she does not need someone with her 24x7 any more (although DH and his siblings are still mostly taking turns having someone there all the time anyway). They are hoping to convince her that now is the time to go ahead and make the move into the senior living condo community that she picked out literally YEARS ago, but has not taken the last step toward any actual move yet...she doesn't want to leave her house and does not want to stop driving...DH and his sibs are all working towards easing her gently into taking those last steps towards the move. Difficult! But she is sweet and strong (and maybe a bit stubborn LOL) and is completely sound mentally, so that is all good.

scrapmaven.. we are going to Brisbane Australia. and taking a cruise to Papua New Guinea. we had this cruise in 2020 and were 4 days from getting on the plane when it was cancelled.. april of 2020.
we are going snorkeling, visit local markets and bask in the sun. we had to get local money from a cash exchange, as no bank has their money. then back home on the 30th. never have spent a christmas on a cruise so that is different.
then, home for a week, then off to idaho to spend the winter skiing!!

Happy Saturday, friends! We went to a few historical sites near us this morning, and then have been pretty lazy since (grocery shopping aside).
Dinner tonight was a bag of PF Chang's from the freezer section, rice, egg rolls, and broccoli.

Today was a nice day. We tried a different restaurant for Korean food and it was excellent. We also picked up a Christmas tree and so far just got the lights on it. Tomorrow we'll finish it. We didn't get one the last few years and it's nice to have one again. Our sweet pup isn't sure about it yet. I'm hoping he won't grab ornaments off the tree.
