Hi everyone! I'm posting early because I am going to meet my mum at Denny's for breakfast soon ... she's finally feeling up to doing it again! No set plans for the day today ... I have a bit of laundry to do and I need to take out my recycling ... so.many.boxes.! That's what happens when you do almost all of your Christmas shopping online.  My girlfriend wasn't feeling up to coming over last night so we're hoping to get together for dinner and Netflix tonight ... what we will eat will be determined later! I had a hair appointment yesterday ... my roots were getting baaaaad! I wear my hair in a ponytail 99% of the time because I'm lazy  . The only time it is down is when I get my stylist to do it ... so here is your 1%!   What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody! |

The party last night was fabulous ~ so much wonderful food and fun people ~ I think it was her best party yet. Before we left for the party, we watched the Heisman Trophy show and were thrilled that LSU QB Jayden Daniels won!! He was so deserving and his speech left tears in my eyes. Today I will work on my Christmas cards and decorating. I made good headway on the tree yesterday so I'm getting there. Dinner is undecided ~ a trip to Raley's is on the agenda. Go 9ers!   |

chicken spaghetti tonight again...
another clear cold day. meeting a possible dog boarder this morning.. hoping it works out. then church, church meeting, grocery store and find the stupid amazon package I misplaced..
I need to get the packages together to send off to new zealand..
and watching 49 er's game. hoping they win.

I have a pot roast cooking for dinner tonight. I got it started when we came home from church and it smells delicious. I will just need some mashed potatoes and broccoli to complete the meal.
Today was Christmas decorating day. I did most of the tree, but waited for DH to do the lights. I have also set up my German village and nativity set, and put out all my candle lit decorations. I have been collecting tree ornaments and candle holders during our travels, and also have many from Munich, so putting them out always brings back memories as well as just looking pretty.

It's a football afternoon. Apart from that I'm sort of laid up, still. If I could focus and finish my online shopping that'd be swell. Chanukkah was early this year and at least my nephews are taken care of. FYI, I need to post in cadoodlebug 's Netflix thread. Last night we watched The Monk movie on Peacock. It was really fun. I forgot how much I enjoyed the show. leannec , if you like movies you can watch "You are SO not invited to my Bat Mitzvah" on Netflix. Since you've had teen dd's you might really appreciate it. It's cute.

Cold front came through last night and it is cold and windy today. At least it is sunny! Will be sewing this afternoon. Not sure what dinner will be. There is spaghetti in the freezer as well as a package of tamales. Either one sounds good. I also plan to bake a pan of cornbread muffins in an effort to use up a quart of buttermilk. They freeze well and save me time on busy nights. |

Yesterday we went to Michigan for DD’s birthday. We walked around her little downtown. They had a tree decorating contest then had dinner at a restaurant in an Italian grocery store. I stocked up on olive oil & sauce. Today dd1 is coming over for her birthday dinner Her bday is Saturday but she’ll be in Michigan then. I’m making a veggie pasta bake with salad and garlic bread. No time to make a cake so I’m hoping to get an ice cream pie from her favorite ice cream place. Flavor depends on their stock. Enjoy your breakfast with your mom leannec. |

Happy Sunday! The show last night was so good. The DGD’s loved it. The only problem was the group behind us with a toddler that talked or cried nonstop. He kept kicking the back of DD seat. DD did turn around one time and asked if they would please make sure he would not continue but then the mother started talking crap. Today we went to church to see one of the DGS’s sing. It was a cute program. Wrapping presents and watching football. It has turned cold. leannec cute picture! Dinner will be chili. |

Dinner is rechauffe.....there is leftover steak, pork chops and we each have half of a baked potato from last night, I just have to do a veggie. I may roast carrots and beets.
It is pouring rain here...and promises to continue through tomorrow. I walked the dog this morning and don't intend leaving home till work tonight!

I was on a mission today to buy a small tabletop Christmas tree. I’ve decided not to put up my wooden tree in front of the window because with Walker, it’s just going to be a challenge. I couldn’t find a tabletop tree but I did find a cool felt like life size tree that you put on the wall or window. It comes with lights and decorations that are attached with Velcro. It sound odd but there was one in the store window and it looked awesome! I’ve got it laying on the floor in the library to get the creases out of it. Putting it up will be tomorrows project.
Tomorrow morning I’m taking the grandboys cat to the vet to be spayed. The appt was made but DS and DDIL are both working and can’t take her. Maybe booked that way on purpose!?
Tomorrow night is my supper group dinner. It’s a bit earlier this month because of Christmas. We are on the letter “L” so we are going to Lee’s Snack House.
Supper tonight was leftover pork chop on a bagel with bay carrots and dip.

It was nice to catch up. Tonight we had a repeat for dinner; steaks, potatoes, onions and brussell sprouts. Boy, do teenagers and young adults eat a lot and create lots of dirty dishes.   But we love having both of them home. |

I like ones that make you think - unless I don't work it out. leannec your curl are gorgeous! That's such a lovely photo of you. I tried a new cut of meat for dinner - it was called a TomaPork - it's like a tomahawk steak, but it's pork. I bought it for DSO, and I was going to have lamb cutlets. But the Tomapork was huge, so DSO and I shared it. I'm not really a fan of pork (except for pork belly of course), so I didn't really enjoy it. |

Ribs tonight - I had a marathon baking session and am EXHAUSTED! I have so much to do next week - not sure how I got so behind, but the last handful of weeks have been brutal! Hope you're all enjoying the last hours of your weekend!

leannec lovely picture! Okay I'm never never allowed to buy another Christmas ornament as long as I live. I'm decorating the tree today, DH put on the lights and helped me with the ribbon that I use instead of tinsel. For DS I gave him an ornament every year that had something to do with his year and put a label on each one. It was fun to remember and look at special ornaments I forgot about. My favorite ornament are my son's preemie booties. I think next year I may buy an artificial tree. This one seems to incite the allergies. I'm not sure what we'll do for dinner tonight. Maybe stirfry.

DS has been making stew all day long today so I think tomorrow is my turn. Everything is good here. I took Dad for a walk at the grocery store. Weekends are for getting stuff done and taking it easy.
Everything is that good. I wanted someone to offer to make me tea. What on earth is that about? I always make my own tea and I know how I like it. I didn’t mean for the entitlement and went and made my tea (obviously). My dad said “you could have asked”… Yes everything is great!

no I did not find the package yet.. so I reordered something.. packages will be in mail tuesday instead.
but the dog boarder is going to work out. her dog got along with our dog.
it is sunny but the wind really made it cold. ready for 95 degrees in Brisbane!!!

Then tried to enlarge it, but it doesn't. It was driving me nuts!  . It took a few views to see it was in a store. And the one you posted the other day took me wayyyy too long to figure out (where the sun don't shine). I love Gary Larson's irreverent sense of humor and irony. My favorite ornament are my son's preemie booties. awww! Today we went to church to see one of the DGS’s sing. It was a cute program. Some of my sweetest memories are going to my niblings' (cute word for nieces and nephews) Christmas programs. I have many scrapbook pages about them. Today was fun, we grabbed some groceries, then got delicccccious Mexican take-out. This place has more unique twists instead of the "same ole same ole." I am thrilled that a bit of Christmas spirit has hit me! I actually want to decorate, after not doing it for years. Christmas has been a bit depressing for me for the past 7 years, but now the decorating bug has finally come back. |

I forgot to mention that I wanna invite some friends over and make a cute gingerbread house, too!  Everyone's just so busyyyyy to hang out (and not just at this time of year). The ONE thing I still don't enjoy in stores are *some* of the Christmas songs. I always feel sorry for the employees having to hear it repetitively. Music in public places has probably improved, but when I worked at Red Lobster years ago, I can STILL remember the songs that played over and over and overrrr. There was a HORRIBLE Christmas song playing in the store that DH and I have never heard before---it was so annoying to me, it was affecting my cheery mood (only briefly). The store also had it turned up wayyy too loud---DH and I were having trouble hearing each other. |

I would love to do a regular dinner thing w/ my former co-workers! Another friend and I organized a reunion a few years ago, and it was SO fun to see everyone again. We're all on Facebook, but it'd be so fun to get together in person regularly like your group does. |
