I am not exaggerating when I say that close to 75% of all the orders I have placed since the beginning of November have all had items missing, wrong item sent or items that were clearly damaged.
I ordered items from American Eagle - wrong item sent (not even close to what I ordered) I ordered items from Old Navy - items missing. I had to jump through a lot of hoops to get a refund on the order. They wouldn't send the missing items. I ordered 2 glass pumpkins from a local glass retailer in Ohio. One pumpkin came, the other wasn't in the box. I emailed and told them. They apologized and sent the missing item. I got it today, opened it and they sent the wrong size (smaller than what I had paid for and these were very expensive). I called them and they are sending another one. They told me to keep the small one. I ordered items from Ulta - came broken. Um, obviously it would break when you put some tiny eyeshadows in a HUGE box with no protection whatsoever! When I called them they asked me to send the items back. I asked "in what box"? She said, the box it came in. I told her how big the box was that they shipped it in and that is why the items were broken. She said they would like to have them back but said if I didn't it wasn't a big deal. In the trash they went. I ordered stuff from Amazon - broken or missing items I ordered stuff off of ebay from Hong Kong - missing items I ordered stuff on etsy - missing items
What the heck???

I have a package that was shipped Nov 21. Still waiting. Left Georgia for West Coast. Sat 30 minutes from my house for 3 days. Then it went to Rhode Island. Left Illinois on Saturday. Now sitting 45 minutes from house. Wondering where it will go next.

Someone I know was just saying the same thing. I guess whoever is doing these kinds of jobs isn't really invested in making sure they are being thoughtful in packing.

I think that during the pandemic, some people got used to staying home and doing very little that was high pressure. Unless they had a job that could be done from home, of course. I am thinking more of young people that had warehouse jobs or in-store sales jobs. Now that they are expected to work again, some are really struggling to go to a job every day and to push themselves into doing that job when they were so used to spending the day watching movies or chatting on social media.

MIl had all 3 boxes of mince she sent out returned to her totally destroyed. The tupperware was completely cracked and mince was leaking through the ziplock around the tupperware. She said the lemon butter was also cracked. One I can understand but all 3? Yep. She's furious and I'm just sad I have no mince!

In the last several months I ordered a box of 40 AA batteries and 12 were missing. Then I ordered an area rug and they sent the wrong one. Really dramatically wrong pattern and color. I ended up keeping it as I didn't want the hassle of returning it and now I am actually happy with it. There was also one more thing that was wrong or missing but that has totally escaped my mind. I was also wondering what is going on.
ETA: Just remembered, I ordered six plain gray towels. I received 5 of the ones that I ordered and one that had a band of black and white trim. Evidently they only had 5 of the ones that I wanted and tossed in another that was actually better quality but it didn't match the other 5.

Ordered matching Christmas jammies in late October from Old Navy so I could get a good selection of colors and sizes. One shirt was missing completely and, of course, out of stock. They told me it would be available again in mid-November, but it never was. Had to re-order something completely different that just isn't as cute!

All of my orders have been promptly delivered, the correct items, unbroken. You guys just don’t live right, obviously.
(oops, I just jinxed myself, didn’t I?)

Yikes! I have ordered about 90% of my Christmas gifts online and not one has been wrong. Quietly backing out of the thread so the curse does not get to me.

I ordered an item from Amazon, with an expected delivery date Dec. 9. Tracking showed it was at my local post office that morning and being transferred to carrier for delivery. Next thing o know, I get an updated delivery date of Dec. 13. I checked Amazon yesterday, and my package was handed over to the carrier again—IN FLORIDA! I’m in WV. 😡
I need it next Monday, so hopefully the Dec. 13 delivery day is accurate.
ETA I just checked my tracking, and it is still being processed in FL. I just reordered it, and the new order is supposed to be delivered on the 13th as well. My experience with previous situations like this leads me to believe the first order will never make it here and I will have to cancel it.
Hopefully, the replacement will get here in time.

Some people start ordering Christmas gifts in November, so companies start hiring extra help at least by early November. Whether it’s due to part time help, not well trained, pressure to get more packages ready to ship in less time, or whatever, it’s not surprising that problems are occurring during this time of year.
I have ordered several items from Amazon since early November, and a few from Best Buy. I have also ordered from Karen Burniston, and from Queen & Co. I have had issues with only one order, and it was one of the orders from Amazon. The box had been sealed with only one strip of tape across the length of the top and on the bottom, but not the short edges. By the time the package arrived, it looked a bit beat up, and had a gaping hole. The phone case I order evidently slipped out through the gap, because it wasn’t in the box, and it was supposed to be. Amazon replaced it. I am guessing that a new or temporary hire packed it and they were doing a rush job. Amazon had to eat the cost of the replacement, but at least it wasn’t an expensive item.
I’m sorry that you have had so many problems with yours. Whether it is due to companies that don’t train their people properly, or the rush of the season, or whatever the reason, it’s still upsetting when you anticipate getting your purchases, and then items are missing.

Funny, because my Kohl's order last week was missing an item which is now out of stock ( one of those blankets people are always talking about on here) and one item was the wrong color which the person on the online customer service thingie said I have to go into the store to fix/exchange, even though they messed up...

I just got two packages from Amazon right after I posted. I was wondering if I had cursed myself. So I opened one and it was correct. I opened the other... something I didn't order, but something I definitely wanted... looked at the label... my husband ordered it for me. His name was on the package. No way I could fix it, so I fessed up. Last week my new luggage that was on my Christmas list showed up at 7:15 am on our doorstep. I put it in the garage. Ha. Now I know all of my gifts.

I agree with scrapnnana that’s it’s probably mostly due to the seasonal help. But that’s a lot of errors!!!

Knock on wood… I haven’t had any incorrect or missing orders but they’ve been so slow to ship and arrive. I’m really glad I did the online shopping parts of my shopping as early as I did.

I JUST got off the phone with LOFT to get them to send me a return shipping label. I ordered from them on October 26 and it never got here--it was one of those things where UPS hands it off to USPS for final delivery. UPS marked it as handed off, but USPS said they were still waiting for UPS to give it to them. Both pointing the finger at each other! Called LOFT and they were great--they sent me a whole new order and said if this one ever showed up to call back for a return label.
Back in September during Prime days I ordered an airfryer and a box of new storage containers. Same thing, UPS handed off to USPS. USPS marked it out for delivery but then it never showed up, never marked as delivered. Contacted Amazon and they sent out new items.
In both of these cases, I'm 99.9% sure it was USPS that was at fault. The local office SUCKS.

Oh my! You have had a streak of bad luck with your purchases!!!!
Let's blame in on the covid vaccines that have made people incompentnet. lol
I know there are a lot of people in training, but how in the world did you manage to get all the trainess and their errors. Goodness. Hope when you called customer service they were accommodating.
