For fun what year do you think these songs came out?
I was surprised. No looking them up. All 5 came out the same year. I will let you know on Wednesday the year.
1. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road - Elton John
2. Midnight Train to Georgia. - Gladys Knight & The Pips
3. Let’s Get it On - Marvin Gaye
4. Bad, Bad, Leroy Brown - Jim Croce
5. Killing me Softly with His Song - Roberta Flack. Still one of my favorites today.

I am surprised they all came out the same year. I thought a couple of those songs were older.
ETA - I know all those songs and probably owned them all except for the Jim Croce one.

I remember because it was the year we married and my mother gave Yellow Brick Road to my husband for Christmas. We still have it. I would have thought the others were older.

Huge Elton fan and YBR was one of the first of his hits to hook me in, I was 12 😊 Not at all sure I would have been right about the others though.

I would have said 1972, but that's not an option so I'm obviously wrong!

These songs came out in 1973 which makes them 50 years old. I was surprised how old they are.

For my most awful 9th birthday in 1973, I distinctly remember Bad Bad Leroy Brown. I asked for Goodbye Yellow Brick Road for Christmas that year. My older sister got it instead. Couldn't tell you anything about the other three.
