When we arrived at Crazy Rummy yesterday we found out one of our Newcomer's members had passed away that morning. I wasn't as close to her as some of the other gals but I will miss her. Today will be errands and this afternoon I will go help another gal bag desserts for our Newcomer's luncheon tomorrow. 125 desserts! She makes amazing goodies and has provided the desserts for the past 3 luncheons. Dinner will be pizza, we ended up having Teriyaki Chicken last night.

I had a bit of a slow start this morning, but still managed a load of laundry and a call with DS1 over my morning coffee. Once the laundry was washed and hung out, I headed out for what I hope is my final Christmas shopping trip. I now have everything I need for DH, so no mad trips at the last minute. I had lunch in the city at one of the market stalls, because I was there. Now I am just waiting on an Amazon order. I have been really annoyed with Amazon delivery lately. They are not ringing my doorbell, just leaving my parcels outside the front door and sending me a ‘your item was delivered’ email. I realise they are under time pressure with Christmas around the corner and have probably been hampered by weather conditions, but leaving parcels outside at 9pm when rain is expected overnight is not good enough. I complain each time, but nothing is changing. We’ll see what happens today.
For dinner tonight I have a chicken thigh. I am going to cook it with a Mexican mole sauce, then serve with rice and beans.

Hi Everyone, scrapmaven You have a busy day. cadoodlebug How sad. I am so sorry for the loss of your member. ntsf I hope you get everything done and mailed. sueg so glad that you were able to catch up with your DS. It is frustrating when parcels are left in inclement weather. Dinner sounds good. bklyngal62 Your dinner sounds delicious. I hope that you get your cards finished. Today, I am getting my nails done, wrapping my brother’s gifts and scheduling the package for pick up. I am also hoping to work on decorating my kitchen and Christmas cards. YDS borrowed my car today, to help move his BFF home from college. Hopefully there are no incidents. I am borrowing ODS’s car to get my nails done. Dinner tonight is chuck roast in the crockpot with vegetables. I hope all of you have a peaceful rest of the day.

Good morning!
I'm back at the hospital today with the parents. My dad will be released today after his final dose of his anti-viral. Mom will probably be here for a few more days before they release her to rehab.
Not sure what dinner will be tonight- probably take out!

I am going to my fav place today ... the mall! It will be OK because I'm going with Molly who also hates going to the mall and just gets what we need, has lunch and then we leave! So I'm looking forward to my burrito! Both of us will finish our Christmas shopping ... yay! My mum came over for dinner last night so I didn't make that fish stew ... she would never eat that! So I'm hoping to make it tonight!

Ugh. I need to find a way to complain to Amazon directly. Once again, my package was left outside my front door, in the rain, despite me being at home. I have filled out the 'tick the box' form they provide, saying my delivery instructions were not followed and my parcel was left at my 'safe place' (which it isn't - I have never told them they can leave things by the front door) when I was at home. I just feel that my feedback is obviously not getting through.

Hi friends!
It's 12:47 and I'm ready for a nap! DH had a work potluck today, so I was up at 5:15 helping him make meatballs. He always does meatballs and homemade sauce. And it was an adventure even making sure we could do them. Our crock pot has the snap-on handles to ensure safety when carrying it. Which is great...until he cleaned it a little too aggressively and something snapped off inside and he didn't feel comfortable having the inner heating mechanism to a piece of plastic inside.
So I ordered a new one from Target during my work day yesterday, and went to pick it up last night. Got it home, and we were wiping down the outside and getting ready to put the other pieces in the dishwasher...only to find a baseball sized dent on the outside part and well, we weren't about to use that!
So out I went again, to a different location to return it and I told him that I'd just get whatever they had (I'd gone to a different location the first time because the closer location didn't have what we wanted in stock).
Fortunately, the girl working the returns counter was lovely and I got a full refund back to a gift card; and then I went to an actual cashier to pay for my new one (the same one, which apparently wasn't in stock?). I explained the situation to her and asked if I could pay and then step to the side to open the newly purchased one to confirm nothing was damaged. She understood completely and apologized again for the trouble. No issues with this one, and now we have a spiffy new crock pot (it's blue - super pretty!). I think the cashier was also surprised I asked if I could take a look at it because she said most people just open it in the aisle where they are... I'm not that much of a jerk. I was annoyed, but not so much to do that!
Oh, and dinner this week is a new-to-us recipe: chicken fajita casserole (https://urbancowgirllife.com/low-carb-chicken-fajita-casserole/). I always get a little nervous trying new recipes with DH, but he wants me to double it for next time, so I'd call that a winner, winner chicken dinner! (Okay, maybe I do need that nap...)

I just feel that my feedback is obviously not getting through. I know its a bummer. I'm usually in the back of my home and don't hear the trucks, so I don't know I have a delivery until I read emails. During the height of Covid, they quit using doorbells. Then I would say about a year ago, they started using the doorbell again, but I would say a few months ago that stopped again. I wonder if it is because of the holiday season or heighten sicknesses during the winter months.

Marina - I read you post from yesterday and I'm so sorry to hear about your friend/cousin. I hope you are able to see her at some point. I had a nice surprise yesterday, SO made dinner! Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans. ALL BY HIMSELF. Did not ask for my help! And he did the dishes afterwards. Who is this man?? I was able to work on my cards and will finish that up tonight. We will have rechauffe tacos that we had on Sunday. I have my list of cookies and stuff to bake/make so I will go shopping after work on Thursday and maybe start a few doughs to sick in the fridge. Then I can do some stuff this weekend. Although we still need to do some shopping.

DH and I went into the footy to have lunch with his buddy. His buddy’s wife was having knee surgery this morning and he was putting in time. After lunch FH and I went to the mall and I grabbed another small gift for each of my boys. Now I’m done.
We had clubhouses for lunch and I didn’t eat half of mine. DH had a quarter of his left so he gave it to me and now I have 3/4 of a clubhouse for supper. I’ll add a salad to go with it.
DH believes that he has a sciatica issue. He’s had some numbness in his leg before and dr sent him for an extra of his back. The X-ray showed squishing of a couple lower vertebrae. Dr told him to keep active. Today the leg is numb but it comes and goes. Anyone ever deal with this?
My inside decorations are finally up. We even put a star on Walkers crate.

Happy snowy Tuesday! It really looks like Christmas around here. With all the snow and dark days (sunrise at 10:30 sunrise at 3:30) My Christmas lights twinkling, Christmas music playing. Life is so cozy! Dinner tonight is BLT's with chips and grapes. I still haven't had time to bake anything but I did get my canned and boxed food cabinet cleaned out and reorganized. I hope I have time to work on a cute Christmas puzzle and a fun craft project. cadoodlebug sorry to hear about your friend that passed away.

Does your group cover lots and lots of neighborhoods? I would enjoy something like that, welcoming the newbies. I've had the stupidest day! . Finallllllllly completed a MAJOR de-cluttering project, and DH only says: "it was fine the way it was." . Are you KIDDING ME ? I've explained to him many times that visual clutter can be very annoying and stressful, but he always said he just ignored it. I honestly wish I COULD ignore it, but couldn't stand it any more! I wish I could show y'all a before and after pic, but I very angry and stressed when I did it, and forgot to get 'before' pics! I wasn't physically able to do all of this before, so I am thrilled that I could finalllllly get it done.

Good Morning ! Cleaning the Texas room and addressing Christmas cards is on my to do list today. Might have to go get a few groceries as well. For dinner we will be having enchiladas with rice and beans. Just wondering what a Texas room is or if it’s an autocorrect. Marina I didn’t see your post yesterday. I hope everything is ok. scrapmaven I hope all those appointments are helpful. Big hugs christine58 what a nice way to remember him. destined2bmom I’m trying to work out the kinks in my greenhouse cabinet. I’m waiting for 2 more things to “finish” it. Today I came home to a puddle of water in it. I switched the humidifier to a smaller one that I have but apparently it puts out too much water. sueg Amazon drives me insane. They delivered a package of mine to my neighbor. While they were delivering it they called me Very odd. The phone wouldn’t answer. I call the # right back. It directs me to their online service. I then get a text with a picture of my package on their porch. I figure they’ll see it’s not theirs and put it on my porch. The wife doesn’t speak English and the husband acts offended when I speak to him.he clearly grew up in the states so I don’t know why he acts that way. Dh is never home and has never met them. Package is not on their porch a couple hours later. Week goes by no package returned. I online chat Amazon who tells me to go look for it. Knock on their door a few times no answer. Contact Amazon who says they’re refunding me. Week goes by. No refund. I go over to my neighbor’s when there’s a bunch of cars there. They open the door and there’s a mountain of Amazon boxes & packages. Person shows his phone saying he can’t understand English but he grabs my exact package from the 30 or so immediately and gives it to me. So far dinner is chips and salsa. Maybe cereal later.

Dr told him to keep active. Today the leg is numb but it comes and goes. Anyone ever deal with this? I had horrible sciatica when my disk ruptured and was impinging on the nerve. I couldn't stand or walk more than a few steps without laying flat on my back. It was so awful and the worst pain I've had. Luckily, I was able to get into surgery quickly to get the disc pieces off of my nerve. Haven't had any pain since then but I'm hoping that your DH can deal with it bulging and get some relief.

cadoodlebug, I'm so very sorry to hear about your friend. May her memory be for a blessing to all who knew her. teddyw, is your neighbor a package thief? They sound like mean people, but maybe it's really a matter of them being unsavory. It's a PITA, but would Amazon Locker be a safer thing? sueg, Amazon used to be so reliable, but now it's all over the place. We pay for Prime shipping, but often a package is delayed repeatedly. Is that Amazon's way of not doing 2 day free shipping? Too many appointments. I'm wiped out. If Santa were real I'd give him such a big to-do list for Christmas.

Sorry for your loss. I've been meaning to ask about your Newcomer's group----it seems you always have LOTS of them coming in new all the time. Does your group cover lots and lots of neighborhoods? I would enjoy something like that, welcoming the newbies. It is all my town. There are over 300 members and some have been with the group for decades. You don't need to be a newbie to join. With so many activities, there is something for everyone. They just started a hiking group and they went on a 9 mile hike the other day. I just got back from bagging the desserts. There were 8 of us so it only took 30 minutes! Then we talked for another 30 minutes.

Thank you everyone for your wishes for our dear cousin! destined2bmom and taylortroop sciatica is my bane. I've had it for months at a time. I'm so sorry you and Taylortroop's DH is dealing with it. Well DH and I are a team for appliance repair. We have so far fixed a washer, dryer and now a dishwasher. I figure out the problem and parts and find repair videos and DH does the repair. The dishwasher seems to be working. Tonight I made pork teriyaki stir fry and jasmine rice.

Hi all (or at least the late-night/west coast/down under crowd) I’m just checking in to say hello. Mom is still in the hospital, so I’ve had some long days there. She’s no worse, maybe a little better even, but they still haven’t figured out exactly what’s wrong with her. The cardiologist who was supposed to stop by today never did. Tomorrow my DD (the RN) is going to listen in on the phone when the regular doctor, or the cardiologist, whoever comes by, is there, and ask whatever questions she likes. Dinner was a Siggi’s yogurt after I got home from the hospital, and some of the pretzel-turtle candy things my neighbor dropped off.
